I always pictured Squeek as a little guy with a cane who lives in a cave with all of his brethren who make fun of him because hes a cripster. Then these giant flying robots come and capture everyone but him and he has to save them by channeling his mentor god, and they feel bad that they made fun of him after they get captured. But he's a good guy and saves them anyway because he's pure of heart.
Yeah kind of. I don't think he would have pointy ears though. He'd be like a little monkey dude. Squeek should have like insane spiritual powers though like being able to shrink and grow as he pleases. The gameplay would vary as such.
What was the last 2D platformer game using sprites anyway? I think 2.5D is just a given at this point. Especially since that's pretty much what Oddysee and Exoddus were (I'm talking out of my ass here so correct me if I'm wrong)

Think of Abe HD as a "test bed" for the 2.5D technology, in a matter of speaking. It's the first of many, many projects if the info I've heard is correct.

No, 2.5D refers to using actual 3D models in-game while only having 2 dimensions of movement. AO and AE were all sprite-based, so they were technically 2D.

But the sprites and backgrounds were captured from 3d models.
