I knew Catwoman had to be in it. There's gotta be a chick in it after Rachel died.

I knew Bane had to be in it because there's only two Batman villains who pose a greater threat to Gotham than Joker and they already used one in the first movie.

Bane was in Batman and Robin huh. He was retarded in that movie for some reason. It was annoying, but the movie sucked anyway.

Yeah, people get hooked by the Batman and Robin portrayal and don't seen to realize that Bane is a genius, extremely competent and so psychologicall aware of his surroundings he was able to point at Bruce Wayne whilst him and his goons were watching a situation and say 'That man is Batman.'

I was hoping all the theories about the Riddler would be true; that sounded like it could have been a great movie.

The Riddler may be supremely iconic, but so is Adam West's 60's Batman. It's impossible to make a Riddler who is anywhere near as menacing as the Scarecrow and Joker used in the last two movies.

Mull that over.

If they made it an R rated film, and had the riddler murdering people, and leaving clues behind (ala Seven), it could have worked. But no, I don't see how the Riddler could be interesting in a PG-13 film.

There was plenty of murder in The Dark Knight, so I don't see how they couldn't do the same for the Riddler.

Falcone was the cancer eating Gotham alive.

The Joker was the pus drooling scab that Batman created by extracting the cancer.

Bane hasn't been seen or mentioned so far, so I think they're going to play him as a foreign crime lord. Trying to crush Gotham from the outside.

There was plenty of murder in The Dark Knight, so I don't see how they couldn't do the same for the Riddler.

How many on screen murders did you see? I can think of only a few, and none of them were particularly grisly. I think for the Riddler to work as a follow up to the joker he would have to be extremely depraved in the way that he treats his victims.

I see what you're getting at, but The Dark Knight was all about implied depravity - we never really saw murders as they happened, but the guy pretending to be Batman, the news reporter, the dead bodies in the apartment were all implied to be quite horrific.

I think in theory, they could pull off something similar to make the Riddler work.

But now that I think about it, a lot of what the Joker did in TDK was quite similar to Riddler's whole shtick, so it's probably for the best they went with a different style of villain.

I think Nolan played it safe with the last movie in order to get a PG-13 rating and get a bigger audience. There was actually barely any shown violence in the Dark Knight. It was mostly implied.

The Riddler would be too lame. Arguably he's too similar to the Joker, and he's not even that evil for a villian since he makes Batman smarter by giving him puzzles to solve.

Hey I was reading more about Bane's character and it says somewhere on the interweb that while spending his long time in prison he developed his own fighting style and meditation technique.

I was wondering since I don't know much about meditation, how do you really develop your OWN technique? I'm sure there can be variations on meditation but I don't understand how. I always thought of meditation as just sitting in one spot for a long time with your eyes closed trying to think about nothing.

I also thought he kind of reminded of Spawn because of his mask.

A little breakage from reality is advisable with comic Bane, especially considering the pre-climax of his story arc Knightfall has Batman facing an army of ninjas.
