Last year I was overlooking the guy sitting next to me in Maths. He was drawing Stranger, I flipped back and saw he'd drawn other characters from the series too. I asked him if he liked the games. He stared at me with a blank face. "They're video games now?" I asked him how he found out about Oddworld he said he found the Art of Oddworld book at his uncle's house. Not knowing that it was a game he became fascinated with the series without ever playing the game.
This intrigued me, Is the Oddworld series really that good a narrative? How could someone become so passionate about a story without even playing any of the games? It's like knowing all there is to know about Football, without playing it or seeing a match.
Did you at least introduce him to the games? I know there aren't standard procedures for getting an Oddworld fan into Oddworld gaming, but it seems like a necessary endeavour.
Well about oddworld, the art is amazing so i kind of understend him losing his reason, though that being said the concept behind the art in oddworld is essential to understend it.

Yes I gave him my old PS1 (I have 3 of them for some reason) and AO & AE, he got unbelievably frustrated with the game (for obvious reasons).
