Stranger and PS3 - coming next easter!!! -

Havoc, the fact that something is "not black" does not automatickally mean that is is "white". Gilroy said that it will be released in PS3, not that it won't be released in any other console. Although i wouldn't call it reading between the lines but missreading the lines and making assumptions.

Anyway, i am kind of disapointed about the news that the first thing they get out will be a remake but i do understand the necessity for something like that. The team has to get more in touch with the oddworld universe, to get some more experience with those games before moving into something new. They also need to bring in a new audience, too young to have ever played the previous games. Plus it shows some work ethics that OWI has been lacking a bit.

I just hope that any future games JAW makes will also be released on pc (even at a later date) and that people like Gilroy will continue to listen and talk to the fans

You have to admit that using Gilrod as user name doesn't make things easier.

Anyway, congrats again for the announcement. I have a bunch of friends who have the PS3, so I'm sure I'll be able to try it out.

Oh and if you need someone to kick MS in the teeth so they let you release it on Xbox 360 you know where to find me.

Yes, even though I already own Stranger's Wrath for Xbox, I will be purchasing a PS3 for the updated version. The new voice recordings have me excited, since it leads me to believe there will be new scenes in the game.

No-one said anything about new voice recordings. All that was said was 're-mastered dialogue'. It's probably just keeping the same dialogue recordings but put in to the game at a better quality bitrate.

I think the audio has to be reprocessed because it was encoded in a way to be usable for the original Xbox and doesn't seem to work with anything else of this generation.

So no real re-recording here guys, move along.

360 is inevitable, but not yet on the short term slate. Only so many developers with so much bandwidth avaloiable to us. We finance these ourselves so there are not publishers involved, which makes things a little slower than might seem reasonable. But... headway is constant

I think Gilray is refering to the "new" titles that appeared on the original XBox:
- Oddworld Munch's Oddysee; and
- Oddworld Stranger's Wrath.

I see. I read it on Destructoid and they said 6, then I saw it on joystiq and they mentioned 6. Regardless, it doesn't matter if it is 5 things after Stranger or 4 things after Stranger. The point is, we be getting a lot of Oddworld stuff yo.

We have no idea if they intend to continue with OWI's original story idea, but we do know that Abe and probably Munch will be in at least one of them.

Joystick is the first source that had the email interview with Stewart Gilray (who does interviews over emails these days anyway?????)

THEY mentioned it wrong, thus everybody writes it wrong now.

Well before we see project nr5 we are 15 years further anyway :P
It took OWI 12 ,or something, years to produce 4 main projects , so.......

Can someone clarify for me the relationship between this game and Oddworld Inhabitants? I know that the game is made by JAW, but are they working with OI (OddMobb, whatever they're called now

The relationship is that JAW is doing work for OddMobb. OddMobb has to sign off on everything that's done because they retain 100% ownership of Oddworld. Neither company owns the other and both are doing independent things.

Gilray did an interview with Gamasutra. A lot of it's already been said before during other interviews, but he did mention that a game with Abe is a possibility.... so that's kinda cool.

5 projects? Good news? It seems the world may end at any moment...

I hope this is a 'something we're working on' project rather than a 'something we say we're working on that then goes on to be never mentioned again' project.
