As Spider walked into Pyke he was greeted by the Mayor and several others.
"Spider! Your back!" the Mayor said, "Any news on the family that was kidnapped?"
Spider let out a long sigh before answered.
"I'm afraid I was unable ter save them. I did what I could, but failed. I am sorry." Spider said, hanging his head.
There were shocked gasps and cries of grief from the crowd.
"We will mourn their passing." the Mayor said sadly, putting a hand on Spider's arm, "Do not blame yourself, for nobody is perfect. You did what you could and that what's important."
"Thanks fer understanding, Mayor."
"What became of the group that took them?"
"All dead ter the best of my knowledge. I never found their leader's body."
"Well may he and the rest of them rot in hell." The Mayor then noticed the tattoo, "Did you always have that tattoo? I never noticed it before..."
"I jus' got it, yer see I..." Spider was interrupted by a loud rumble. He quickly realized that it was his stomach demanding to be fed and that he hadn't eaten in nearly a day. He blushed slightly in embaressment, "Pardon me..."
The Mayor just laughed as he said:
"Don't worry, you can tell us over dinner. Care to join us?"
Dinner was sounding really good to him right now, so Spider eagerly excepted....

The news of Spider's deed and a special dinner that was going to be held in his honor spread like wildfire. The village was usually quiet, and something like this was an event to be celebrated. People talked about it in the streets and a few banners were put up.

Hunter had finished his survey of the town, and he was quite impressed. These people seemed very adept in knowing how to live out in the middle of nowhere, plus they were safe from the Cartel....at least at the moment. A loud growl from his stomach told him it was time for dinner. He turned to go back to the forest to hunt, but the news of the dinner sounded too inviting. Sure, people may stare and shy away from him, but a free meal was a free meal. With that, he turned around and headed toward the town hall.

Spider looked around at all of the people at the dinner as he ate.
Sheesh I didn't think the whole town would be here... he thought. Then he remembered what the Goddess told him, about a friend of one of his kin being here. How in the world am I goin' ter find him or her? I don' even know what ter look fer...
It was then that he spotted a weird creature come through the door. It resembled a Big Brother, but only with hind legs and fangs.
Is he 'nother 'breed? Spider mused as he watched him make his way to the food. It was then that their eyes meet...

Hunter couldn't believe what he had just seen. He had just laid eyes on practically the last creature he had expected to see: the first Drakkic crossbreed. So that was why the name "Spider" sounded so familiar. He had a sudden flashback of his days as a highly respected and honored bounty hunter for the Cartel, on the trail of runaway experiments. He shook his head: that was a shameful memory of the past....of what he used to be. But wait...something was different about him. There was an odd tatoo on him....in the shape of a...dragon!!

"Dat's right, he has dragon in 'im." he remembered, and gave a slight nod "I am automatically an ally of any kin of BD." Hunter turned his head to make it not seem obvious that he was staring. His mind whirred with thoughts.

"I guess I should go and congratulate him. After all, a deed like his deserves great respect," he thought and began to dart his way through the crowd.

*Blue is leaning against one of the walls of the large hut, eating her vegetable curry happily, when she sees Spider. She decides to watch him, and maybe get a chance to congradulate him herself.*

Hunter waded through the crowd.

"I really hate crowds," he growled under his breath as people dodged in front of him and all around.
A large Mudokon suddenly blocked his view and he accidentally slammed into someone. He turned his head to see that he had run into a strange dark blue female Mudokon.

"Oops, sorry, miss," he muttered and went to help her back up.

"Sorry?!! Ya should be ya-!" she started but cut herself off when she saw Hunter.
He reached out his paw and helped her up.

"So sorry 'bout that, I'm not used to crowds," Hunter smiled.

"Nah, it's ok, no harm done, see? I hope ya don't mind me asking, but what the heck are you anyway?" the Mudokon asked with a look of puzzlement.

"Oh, me? I'm....er, long story, but I'm a Big Bro Slig crossed with a Slog," Hunter replied in a low voice.

"Wow, interesting! I never saw anything like you before, that's so cool! You a crossbreed or something?"

"Nah....it was kinda an accident..."

"Well, anyhow, my name's Blue....I'm a Biros Mudokon....that means I'm an aquatic race."

"Ah, I think I mighta heard 'bout them once. My name's Magar, but they just call me Hunter."

There was a pause and Hunter glanced at Spider, who he noticed now had his eyes fixed upon him.

"I've gotta go, Blue, I'll talk to ya later," Hunter said and continued over to Spider's table.

Spider lost sight of the strange Slig and was searching desperately for him when a strange Slig voice suddenly said "Hello, Spider, kin of the Black Dragon."
Spider turned around quickly to see the strange 4-legged Slig standing behind him on two legs.

Spider wasn't quite sure if the 4 legged slig was who the Goddess was refering to, until he greeted him. Now he was positive.
Spider nodded politely and said:
"Greetings friend, yer must be the one the Goddess told me 'bout."

(ooc: I'm not about to guess how Hunter would react to that, otherwise this would be a bit longer...)

"Goddess?" Hunter thought. Black Dragon had told him about the dragon god and goddesses before....but did they acrually exist? And why would one foretell of his arrival? His head was once again spinning, but he maintained his serious composure.

"A dragon goddess spoke of me?" He asked calmly.

(OOC: Ran out of ideas...)

"Not by name." Spider explained, "She just said that 'a friend of one of yer kin is in the village' and that I might want ter look fer yer. Why I haven't a clue. She was the one that gave me this..." he pointed at the tattoo, "and helped me discover the dragon in me. If it wasn't fer her help and guidence...I would be dead right now and the village under seige by those bastards."

(ooc: ack...thats as far as I could go...maybe we should do this in MSN...)

Hunter tried to comprehend what all this meant. A dragon goddess had visited Spider and suggested that he look for an ally of a dragon...maybe there was a mistake and it wasn't him...but just how many dragons were there on Oddworld? There couldn't be that many, there was just Dragadon and Black Dragon for all he knew. Besides, they were the only two known to be in the village. After a bout of silence, Hunter finally spoke up.

"If I know dragons well enough, they don't say things unless they mean it. Most likely we were fated to meet for an important reason...but why I can't imagine," he said, thoughtfully scratching his small chin.

(OOC: Yeah, we should go over this in MSN)
