Sorry, I dislike Satanism in all forms because it contradicts everything I stand for + most people in Satanism are evil nutters. They venerate Lucifer, the fly and the devil. Most Satanists, especially the Endor Coven (P.S. Endor, wth Star Wars much?) believe that the serpent of Eden revealed truth and allowed humanity to make it's own decisions. I'm not actually a traditional creationist but the principal to me is messed up.

LaVey was a nutbag, true, but Satanism isn't just a load of evil ideas. Individualism (you are the most important person in your world) is somewhat a good thing. And to quote the current head of the Satanic Church:

Firstly the man was a cult leader. Cult leader always equates to trouble, he probably started off in New Orleans with his books of Crowley getting his dick sucked by any girl stoned enough to not care.

Secondly, he actually has no idea what a commandment is. The ninth commandment of LaVeyan Satanism is a statement, not a commandment. It's also one of those things that looks deep and meaningful until you realize how superficial it actually is.

Third, his ideals aren't actually his. He's just another in a long line of people who have pillaged Nietzschian philosophy and you know managed to totally miss the point about nihilism.

Lastly, the church of LaVeyan Satanism has less right to be a church than the church of Scientology. Because LaVeyan Satanism isn't a religion. It's a mostly recycled philosophy given a religious spin to appeal to all the dumb nihilistic rich kids.

Oh also I'm all for loyalty, devotion and love for all things, so I disagree with it on an ethical level too.

I had a good friend for like three years that was a Satanist. She was a really cool person.

I love how a good number of people out there assume Satanist means they worship the Devil as an Evil God and they want to declare war on Christians and sacrifice children and whatnot. I mean, would it kill people to do a little bit of research first? Sure, there are a few crazies out there that DO do that, but it's certainly not the majority and not what most people who refer to themselves as a Satanist means.

A shame that there's only two choices here and as an agnostic shall answer like this:

I would do neither, If this apocalypse were to arrive I would regard God but as a self-rightous bigoted arsehole. My reasoning for this is because of God's view of: if you are lucky enough to be born in a christian area or move to one and follow me because someone told you to you may go to Heaven. The rest of you can go fuck yourselves.

Actually if God exists and revealed himself in the apocalypse then I wouldn't at all be worried, because nothing in the Jesus's teachings say I've done anything worth even going to purgatory for.

I'd just be like 'Hey cool you do exist! I got a couple of questions to ask you later if you don't mind...'

now if we're speaking the New Testiment Christian God then I agree. For some reason I had the old style God in my head, stupid me. The New Testiment God fits the creator role much better in my eyes.
