Squeek's species will be - ?

I keep reading all over the forums that people think Squeek will be an evolved slurg, a slig or a khanzumerz or something. Well, I think you're all wrong.
I remember reading in Alf's rehab and tea just before the Xbox launch a quote from a Lorne Lanning interview that OWI had just created a new central character. So squeek is going to be something completely new. A specie we haven't seen. Just like Munch was for his Oddysee.
Munch looked the way he did because OWI said the name "Munch" implied a big mouth full of teeth. Well, the name "Squeek" implies something small, so Squeek will probably be a small creature. I lean towards something with four legs and maybe no actual arms, since we haven't seen a species like that before. But I'm probably wrong and just speculating.
I don't think he'll be a Khanzumerz. They are the most valuable creatures on Oddworld (as it says in the MO preview in the AE manual), which is why products are tested on fuzzles in Vykkers Labs, so they're safe for th khanzumerz to use. Obviously they'd be some kind of aristocratic industrialist species maybe Squeek will have to fight against. But I doubt we'll see them until later in the Quintology.
In short, Squeek will be a completely new specie. So speculate all you want, but we'll just have to wait and see.

I agree that it will be a completely new species. I also agree that it would make sense for it to be small. I think it may be a creature that can change sizes to fit through small holes or possibly inflate to scare off other creatures. Perhaps it is some type of rodent.

i think squeek is gonna be this little nausiating cute thing(like something so cute u want to throw up), but if u make him mad, hes gonna be one ass kickin strong dude! and it wouldnt be a slurg, because look, the mudokens have a moon- their hand. Gabbits have a moon- their foot, so it wud only make sense that every race- every race thats dieing out and has a savior at least has their own moon. so what wud a slugs moon be? their eye? i think not. and i heard squeek was Lorne's first char., so i think he wudnt be to complex. how they wud make squeek- maybe hed be among a race of little mole like things that dig, so no one nos about them. does anyone agree, or did i do all this typin for nothin?

With a name like Squeek, he might as well be something like one of those Rats that hang around the Almighty Raisin... There's a plot right there. The Almighty Raisin is captured and Squeek, Munch and Abe have to save him and everything else..

But at first hearing the name Squeek, I though of a little mouse. Then after looking at all the info on the Almighty Raisin and seeing so many of those Rats around (not to mention the close up in teh second movie in MO), who knows, maybe Squeek is one of those Ratz. I'm just itching for the next game *heh* Came here to keep me pacified till then.

Every 'hero' (and i use that term loosely) is a new creature, so we will see a totally new creature.

Although this is my first post,I must say,this topic is interesting,and obviously,I have my own ideas.First of all,I beleive that Squeek has to be a new creature,and with every new creature,there will be new characteristics.Secondly,I don't believe Squeek will be small and ferocious,as the Fuzzles already play that role.Nect,I think that it will have to have it's own mind,as opposed to Mudokons,Glukkons,Gabbits,Scrabs,Paramites,Sligs,ect.If Squeek actually is a hero,than he can't be "simple,and fun-loving",like the Mudokons.Then,He can't be like Gabbits,who already play the role of being helpful,peaceful,and helpless.He could,tho,have a characteristic of a Vykker,or Glukkon,being:nasty,evil,selfish,and love to exploit everything.These are probably right because there are no other actual Heroes reported as "bad".These are my opinions,however,I believe that anyone elses views are just as liable.

Okay, first of all,I don't think "Khanzumerz" is another actual species. It's a weird spelling of "consumers", aka customers for the Vykker products. That they are the "most valuable creatures on Oddworld" is yet another big business joke from OWI. That's my theory.
As for squeek being a rat, I wonder... They DO have a seperate entry all to themselves on the OWI website encyclopedia thingy, but you only see the little guys maybe twice in MO, and in cinematics at that. It does fit the name, and that's an awful lot of coverage for a minor creature. As long as it isn't a fleech, I'll be happy. *&$%#&^ fleeches, second most annoying video game enemy, after Ynts (XTRA BONUS POINT- what the heck am I talking about?! Any takers?)

Khanzumerz are a separate species, and yes, you're right, the word was derived from the word "Consumers". They are the primary Target Market for Cartel/Conglomerate Goods. I think that they are sort of the Upper Classes of Oddworld, but Max'll explain it better...

Although I don't want to seem rude having just gotten here, I have to disagree. I really do think that the whole Khanzumerz bit is a joke: it looks like another oddworldian creature at first, but upon pronouncing it out loud, one figures out the gag. It's just the kind of humor we've come to expect- thoughtful and anti-business. Besides, the word is only really mentioned once, in the back of a manual, and in a joking sense at that.
Of course, there IS a species called "Interns", so, who knows? Let me put it this way- I hope Khanzumerz aren't another species and that is their proper name, because that would really be a cop out on OWI's part. My guess is, if it is legitimate Oddworld terminology, it won't be the species name, but a status label, kind of like the social divisions we're starting to see with Glukkons in MO (Junior executive, Glok star, etc.)

Impediment, you seem to be underestimating us. We know full well that the word "Khanzumerz" is just another way to spell "Consumers". However, they ARE a separate species, as I have already explained. I know how you're feeling - I don't like some of the things Oddworld have done recently, but in the end, it's Lorne's world, and he can do what he likes...

(As a "gag", it isn't really funny, anyway...)

I hope you don't mind my asking, Rettick, but you seem so certain of your statement. What actual evidence do you have that Khanzumerz are a separate species? I'm not trying to be impudent, I just really don't know much outside what's stated in the games themselves, so if there's some actual supporting statement by OWI or something like that that I've missed, then I'll gladly accept it and back down.
Oh, and, yes, that was rude of me to assume I was the only one who got the Khanzumerz play on words. My apologies.

You wouldn't know him. Max the Mug is someone in the forums who basically finds out all the information he can about Oddworld and remembers it. Then he pieces it together. This is what I'm guessing, anyway. All anyone really knows about him is that he knows everything there is to know about Oddworld (except, of course, for things known only to OWI)...

I would like to meet this Max the Mug. I don't believe I have met Pilot yet, either, but a Farscape fan is okay by my book any day. If I meet one of them, maybe they can alleviate my suspicians, as I still have a nagging doubt... anyway, what was the first subject here? Squeek's species? Yeah, I have to agree, probably either a new species or one we deal with very little so far, like the rats.

It may be a long shot but could the heros of oddworld follow this pentagram?

Abe would count as Earth and Munch would count as water. so mabe squeek could be some kind of bird. As for the others mabe fire it would be a dragon type creature and spirit... mabe you get to control a creature that is dead, mabe a meech's ghost.

That could be true...although Pentagrams are used for Witchcraft and Wicca an' all and i dont think OWI are going for that area. They are going for enviroment stuff aint they? But i wouldn't be surprised if they were going to do something like that. Dark Whitty...do you do Wicca and stuff or sumat?

anyway there aint no real meaning for the pentagram. Some people belive that it is a symbol of christianity and what God made, but if you put it upside down its supposed to be against it all like antichrist stuff.
