Carl's Diary
Days Five
Well, if your wondering how I survived, I have claws. Took me a while to work that one out but eventually, I made it. As promised, I will now add a detailed report on the paramite species.
Species: Paramite
Sub Species: Pure Mite
Colouring: White body
Paramite Life:
Life as a paramite is spent sleeping, hunting and conversing. Amazingly, paramites show the intelligence commonly found in eusocial species. A paramite will sleep through the day and is accustomed the dank lower levels of Paramonia there are also colonies found across other parts of Mudos including Necrum and the plains regions. The particular species under study has taken a pale hue as colouration in the skin lessens due to constant shade from the sun.
Paramite Sociality:
Paramites hunt in colonies specifically packs, there is usually an alpha male that leads the pack, these are found in the central complex of the hives near the queen paramite, the queen guides the colony to an extent but is considered the hives birthing machine as she does little else. Paramites will actively defend territory from other packs but, the lack of paramites in the Paramonian jungles means that paramite on paramite attacks are almost unheard of.
There are about forty paramites in a Paramonian hive but herds are much larger and are found on plains where the right conditions for more numbers are ranted (more food, females etcetera.)
Unlike most animals, the Paramite can engage in rudimentary conversation, while strictly for means of commanding the pack or defending others, it is still a sign of advanced evolution.
Paramites can also care for others and prefer to be in a pack rather than by themselves, it is theorized that paramites generate a pheromone that is strengthened as more paramites join to hunt; this bond helps bonding processes and allows paramites to act in their colonies best interests without question. Paramites generally avoid other predator species of Mudos, namely Fleeches and Scrabs. Although Fleeches inhabit many of the same forests and caves as Paramites and may be active at the same time, the two creatures will not normally attack each other, as they both pose a risk to each other. Fleeches will only attack Paramites if they are cornered; Paramites will only attack Fleeches if told to by another Paramite.
