In MS Excel, I can't get it to work in DEG mode, only RAD. I checked on my calculator and, indeed, COS(40) equals -0.667 in RAD mode and I want to use DEG mode where the answer would be 0.766!
Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Sorry, I do not use excel so I don't know the answer to that paritcular problem. What I do know is that I hate it when I start getting a multitude of wrong answers, only to find out that my calculator is in Radian mode!
Have you tried the "help" menu? They're usually quite helpful, I find (so long as you can speak gibberish)...
(I had to engrave "Radians!" on the back of my calculator, as when you reset the thing it resets itself to working in radians - and you never usually have to reset it except in exams. By the time you realise all your answers are in radians it's usually too late. *grumbles* Stupid thing)

Yes, it didn't return anything when I said 'RAD' or 'DEG', I'll have to try 'degrees' and 'radians'...
I probably won't finad anything though...Stupid Excel!
