Hmm, North Texas. Do you play in any of their ensembles, Dave?
Nah.

But I was a big ol' band geek in high school, being that I was in a 5A high school in UIL region 24 (essentially one of the best areas for high school band in the country, period). I played baritone for concert band, and picked up bass trombone for jazz band/full orchestra. I quit after high school though, for a variety of reasons. I didn't have my own instrument, which would've cost quite a few thousand, and needless to say that's a hefty investment for something unrelated to my major. As far as jazz goes, I have my own trombone, but since that was my secondary instrument, I didn't stand a chance at keeping up with the swarm of music majors who duel to the death over the lab band positions. And of course I would've kept on with marching band, except for the fact that UNT's field performances are spectacularly underwhelming for a school so renowned for its music program. One of my buddies does play bass for one of the higher lab bands though, but I forget which one. He's a beast.

So there's an unreasonably elongated answer to your question

Nah, I eat that stuff up as I plan to major in Music. Feel free to share any more of your musical endeavors, maybe via PM's. I play euphonium and trombone too. We should hook up.

Oh snap, now that you mention it, I totally remember sharing some pms with you about it before. Checking my box, it looks like that was back in... 2006. And those were the last pms I've actually ever had with anyone.

Holy shit, how long have I been gone from this place?

Ah! A bona fide asexual. That oughta balance things out around here.
No way, from the sound of nearly every question: very repressed.

Religious too? Yes........ No. Well, yes. Maybe not.

Yes?

No, apparently.

I didn't see anything in her questions to indicate a repressed sexuality over open, honest asexuality. But then, it could be both (hello fellow active member! Come share with us, total and frequently perverse strangers, these aspects of your personal life).

Statistically, asexuality is quite probable.

I couldn't really say whether or not I'm repressed, as that's one of those things one tends to be in denial of. I don't think I am, anyway, I've had no real traumatic incidents to induce repression (unless I repressed that) and I've been uninterested in sex for as long as I can remember. I'm not prudish, though, I find sexuality very interesting and have never been offended by talk about sexuality.

I hope that explains something. If you have any further questions, please feel free to pull the lever to your right.

...or just ask me

I can actually understand this. I used to be the same way... all through my teens I was "asexual"... no interest in girlfriends (or boyfriends)... had no urges one way or another as far as a sex drive though I already had homosexual inclinations by my late teens....and then suddenly about the time I was 22 or 23 BANG! All that changed; my sex drive exploded as if to the snap of a finger.

I see no problem with that.

That's certainly a possibility, perhaps a high one, as people develop whenever they develop. Bodies are so very fickle. A lot of people tell me that I'll eventually become sexual, that I'll care when I'm 14, when I'm 16, when I'm 20. Who knows who we'll be a few years from now? Whilst I make the assumption that I am asexual, it is based upon my knowledge as of now as I have no real way to measure what will be.

On the other hand, biologically, men begin and progress through puberty later and slower than women. I began puberty earlier than most girls, too, so I should be as developed as I'll ever get. Of course, like the body gives a damn about "rules".

In anycase, I do understand where you're coming from and don't deny that may be my deal.

I went through that period for about a week age 12, then it went away.
