I have a vague recollection of a small catalog being in the back of the Abe's Exoddus manual. I think they sold shirts with the different mudokon cartoon expression faces on them.

What is unfortunate is that OWI stopped them but didn't produce statuettes themselves; no one was better off with the statuettes not being sold anymore.

Actually, OWI was better off. They own the exclusive rights to the Oddworld intellectual property and all the species/characters/environments. The statuettes were being illegally produced without permission or contract with the intent to profit (technically, fanart and fan fiction infringe on copyrights but because of their harmless nature, and the fact that it reflects negatively on an individual to prevent such things, people rarely go after fanartists. Try and sell fanart/fanfiction and you enter dangerous waters).
Perhaps OWI intended/intends to make their own statuettes. Perhaps not. But a self-respecting company doesn't let someone wreck havoc on their intellectual property. Without a contract, there's no quality control, and poor work would reflect negatively on them because people assume they're properly licensed.
Disney rabidly sues (or sends cease and desist) companies that illegally produce Disney products. Its just that, since Disney is a huge property, there are many more companies illegally producing products and they can't get them all (especially since copyright laws get hazy outside of the native country). OWI had to deal with one, which is much easier to handle.
