I have to side with Ghost and Hobo here, Dawn Of War is one of the most varied RTSs going

It's also one of the most common-sensical ones.

ranged units don't just sit there and shoot arrows into enemies in point blank, they swap to melee weapons as they get close. Plus, all the crazy combat and stuff means you don't have to watch the same fucking animation every time.

Plus, any game with Da Orks in it is epic.

I had AoE1 back in the 90's that got me hooked in the first place. When I bought AoE3 the soundtrack gave me a nostagigasm.
