Oh dear, I think someone started a similar topic a while back, and there were lots of arguments, because it's such a touchy subject.

I have no opinions on it. The less involved I am in matters like that, the better, I reckon. And it's such a difficult choice to make; I hope I never have to do so.

Well, I don't think that pro-lifers and 'abortionists' will ever agree on whether a blastocyst is a real human being, but I still think that in the long run it shouldn't matter.

The mortality of a growth/human inside a woman is entirely her decision - especially when she has been raped or did not intend to have the child. This ties in with my thoughts on euthanasia - that it's not so much murder as a mercy killing.

I'd say that being raised by parents who didn't want you is worse than being scraped out of the uterus whilst you were too busy coagulating to feel mental or physical pain.

That's just my opinion, though...in reality, I just wish that less people had kids. Adopt somebody that's already alive and alone instead of bombing abortion clinics when a developing foetus is terminated.

*** On a side note, do pro-lifers complain at pounds or veterinary clinics when animals are put down? Do they believe in some way that a living cat or dog is less alive than a foetus? ***

That pretty much sums up what I think, yes.

oy...'fraid I'm in a total neutral position here.

On the one hand...its a life they are preventing from coming into the world.

On the other...if there was no such thing as abortion...there would be a heck of a lot more people in the world, and the global ecosystem would be much closer to collapsing if it hadn't already.

There's my opinion for both sides. Now if you will excuse me...I think I depart before things get ugly in here....

Well...this is a very touchy subject, so all I am saying is this: I feel that it is the woman's desicion, though if she didn't want to have kids, she should have been responsible enough to not go around and do that, er, business...

Over all, I'm pro-life. However, I think it should be judged on a case by case basis. I think it's irresponsible, unhealthy and inconsiderate to get an abortion simply because having a baby would be an inconvenience to you. If that's the case, you shoulnd't be getting pregnant to begin with.

However, if someone is raped, or the baby has a horrific disease that would errode the quality of the child's life, then I think abortion might be a good idea if the woman wants to.

But I'm not really anyone to judge the decisions of others. If someone wants an abortion, one might argue that the rights of the unborn human being are not being considered. Then again, what is the definition of a human life. Is it a human life when it's been one day after conception?

As others have said, I too don't believe there are any black or white answers.
