Right, this is my pathetic attempt at a fanfiction. The title will not make any sense, for well... probably the entire story.
While my hope is that I'll post a chapter a week (unless people hate it so much that they start bashing their heads against the wall, just to try to get the words out of their head... which I don't doubt), there are of course no guaranties of these.
There are going to be two main stories, both of them are related, and each will get its own chapter with each update. There will also be a short part, one of three sub-stories (that will alternate with each update), at the end of the main two.
So, here goes nothing...

Magog Cartel keeps some companies open, when it could do without them, for the sole r eason of keeping friendly relations with Vykkers Conglomerate. Chant be Gone is one of these, Labor Force Ranch is another.
Prologue-The Grief of Slaves:
Volrick looked out of his office at the setting sun over the water; his office was one of six rooms in the entire building with a window. This was one of many odd things about Volrick that differed him from his fellow Glukkons, he could stand sunlight.
Volrick was the common Glukkon color, of a slight reddish-purple. His orange eyes’ glow was slightly less than most Glukkons, and some could swear that they say a shadow of a pupil, when they met him. He also had a slight under bit with two teeth barley showing above his lip. All in all, he had an attractiveness that rivaled Molluck’s, be Glukkon standards any way.
“…tricity arced over to his pants, causing them to malfunction, and sending him into one of the power wheels. He was crushed to death.”
Volrick spun his chair, to face the Vykker across his desk. Klask was telling him the casualties of the week. Klask was a Vykker that he had employed to help him with his budget, expenses, and to make clothes for him and all the “products”.
“And, as you already know, a mudokon employee was shot in it’s escape attempt,” he concluded, looking up from the list. He repositioned his glasses, before adding, “Any word from Bahth about the one that managed to escape?”
Silk looked aguishly over to Volrick, while an escaping mudokon weren’t that big of a deal for most places, escape was a touché subject when you worked in a place that hatched, raised, trained, and sold slaves. And a Glukkon’s, slig, assistant was usually what Glukkons would use to took their anger out on.
“No. I had it quite incredible that a mudokon been able to evade a steef for this long. But I have no doubt that Bahth will get it back; this company has never had a finer head of security.” He muttered, it seemed more to himself than to Klask. He reached into his shirt pocket and pulled out a cigar. Silk rushed up with a lighter, to light the cigar, and scurried back into his corner; this was another thing, Klask made Volrick’s suit as one of a kind and allowed free movement of his arms.
His suit’s basic build was like that of any other, with two main differences. The first was that the body part ended just below his feet. The other was that instead of constricting his arms, there were tubes at the shoulder pads that ended at his wrist. Instead of shoes, he wore padded metal tipped gloves.
Taking a long breath filled with cigar smoke, he asked, “any other reports?”
Klask put the casualty list back into his brief case, and pulled out a letter from the Magog Cartel. “Yes, they are cutting our monthly profit by 1,000 moolah… again.”
There was no need to say who “they” were. “What?! Odd damn it. Don’t they realize that we need, at least some, moolah to make a profit? If they keep cutting us back we won’t be able to get by, unless we start charging Vykkers Conglomerate; but that would defeat the only purpose they see in keeping us up and running.”
“No, they don’t realize. All they see is slaves that cost twice as more; they don’t even care if your products are three times more efficient that the average slave. And they don’t like the fact that you’re so isolated, they think you’re up to some thing.”
“But 3 slig spies have come to investigate me and found nothing, even with the Cartel planting evidence; you would think that they would give up? Plus, Vykkers Conglomerate knows that my products are more efficient, that’s the only reason why I get 32% of Sam’s eggs.”
Volrick and Klask both knew that the reason Magog Cartel hated them was not because of they off cost structure. But neither of them talked about Volrick’s unusual fashion sense, his dive for efficiency over pride or ego, or his unnerving way of being able to get a profit from any business. All Glukkons hated him, with the possible exception of a glukkon who was next in line for taking over Rupture Farms, he got a lot of grief from the Cartel as well for his theory that happy mudokons are more productive. Even then, Arnie and Volrick weren’t friends to any degree. They hated him for his difference, yet being an excellent business Gluk and his pretty face. They only reason he had a job, was because of his looks, his efficiency, and his ability to blackmail (he was good at blackmail).
Volrick needed a break, there had been only three CEO’s for this building, and the first owner got just as much abuse from Magog Cartel as he did. MC’s head executives didn’t like new companies in less they thought of it, so they natural hated it when a promising Gluk proposed a slave ranch, and got it approved.
Volrick wanted to remind himself that he had it a little better than Darmask. Turning to his computer, Volrick opened up Labor Force Ranch’s business logs.

There are many maps of Mudos, with each varying in accuracy. Some have Magog Motors North-West of FeeCo Depot, while others have it being directly to the East. This is not due to bad equipment, or explorers, but rather due to laziness. Two things that are known for sure is that Magog Cartel is near the East cost, with a mountain range between the two; and that the river that starts at Sekto’s spring is also near the Magog base.
Prologue-It's the Tattoos, Isn't it?:
A little blue mudokon, with the starting of a feather coming out of a head that looked like it had been shaved many times, reached over the top of a steep (almost cliff like) rocky mountain. Struggling to himself over the top, it collapsed on the semi-flat surface of one of the mountain’s tops.
While the mudokon had a bit more muscle to it than most, it was clearly exhausted and half starved. A little beetle scurried from under a rock, to investigate this unusual intruder.
Its eye’s flickering open; the mudokon turned its head to the bug. The beetle, acting in its territorial instincts, started fluttering its wings, trying to be intimating.
The starving mud lifted its head, the beetle fluttered a finger nail’s distance back. A blur issued from the mudokon’s tongue. Swallowing the bug, the mud sat up.
Its gaze looked up, looking past the mountain top, and it was suddenly stunned. After a few seconds, a manic laughter started coming from the worker, quite and raspy at first, but soon became loud and strong.
The rocky, barren mountain gave way to rolling grasslands and huge, green forests. Birds could be heard in the distance, everything smelled of fresh water and pine. There was a cool moist breeze coming down the mountain. The land seemed to breathe, and be full of life.
The mud’s laughter died down, and then it just sat there, taking a few deep breaths. Its eyes gazed upon the scene, breathing in the grandness of it. It seemed quite content, with a glimmer of glee in its eyes, that wasn’t there before.
“No more mountains.” The mudokon said in a strange voice for a mudokon, not because of its tone or volume, but rather because there was no rasp, lisp, or squeak behind it.
Getting up with new energy, Ark started to descend into the forest; realizing that it had taken him two months to get here, since he escaped Labor Force Ranch.

There are about twenty-three continents on Oddworld. One of them, Glektar, is directly East of Mudos. This being the most likely reason why many of its wildlife is somewhat similar to species that you would find on Mudos, though it is unlikely that most of inhabitants even know of the other continent.
Chapter 1- Sarah:
A little, pale, big eyed, creature cowered in a crevice behind an ally. Barley appearing, a big eyed peered out of the crevice.
An armored figure lurked around, clearly searching for something. It had a lean figure with a hunched back, three legs, four arms, five eyes, and six spikes sprouted from the body and head. Everything, except the spikes, was covered in armor and it whore a mask with five glowing dots along it.
Just when the figure was about to take a closer look at the ally, a different creature descended from the mountainous skyscrapers. This creature had powerful arms that ended in three stumpy, claw like, figures that made a point together. While most of its body was tan, head was purple. It also whore a brisk and clean business suit, with a high collar.
Taking a few steps (on short, thick legs), the octigi walked off of the propeller platform, and asked the armored figure, “Any sign of it? I don’t like it being loose in the city.”
The dracanit took off his helmet, reveling two reptilian eyes along each side of its head with one between the other four, and a short snout with feathery fur. “Nothing yet, sir. It won’t be long; we know that its collar is on, so it won’t be able to leave this vicinity. It’s only a matter of time.”
“Hurry up. Also the mer’s actions let the Canto escape. The security camera’s tell us that it’s still in the building, but it might get out; so keep a look out for it.” The octigi said, stepping back on to its transportation. Raising back up into the sky, the dracanit proceeded past the ally.
The creature had been holding its breath, and now let out a long sigh. ‘Good, at least he hasn’t become a host yet. If he had been caught, this whole thing would have been a waste. I just hope he can get out, otherwise neither of us is getting out of this place.’ The little creature said. The mer absent mindedly scratched out its collar.

So, yeah. That is the first part. The two main stories are of Ark the mudokon, and Labor Force Ranch and how it got to where it is.
Some of you will recognize Ark from W@RF, while other will be obvious about who he is.
And the reason why "The Grief of Slaves" is twice as long is because I had to introduce more characters, and I found that hard to do without making it feel rushed. Also, you will note the reference to Arnie (one of dripik's characters in Work at Rupture Farms).
The deal with that seemingly random thing at the end, is that I wanted to have a story that took place on Oddworld, and still have that feel, yet be able to apply my own ideas and races.
It's time for random facts! Yay!!
-My brother first used Ark in W@RF (I took over this account), but Ark was originally my idea. My brother was unoriginal when joining W@RF, and tried to make him exactly like Abe, which I now have to work around.
-Mers (the race that Sarah is) is a race that's used as mechanics. Just imagine a cross between a mudokon and a grubb, than cut it's height in half, and take away 70% of its muscle and you have a Mer.
-Cantos are closely related to Kintos. Think of a Kinto with three fingers, two stubby (elephant like) legs, and heads (since their skulls don't help support their shoulders). More on them later.
That is all for now. So tell me what you think (and please point out spelling and grammar). Also, one of my short stories will follow an octigi, and I need a name for him, so suggestion would be appreciated.
