anyone with a sense of humour.....

if you have an snes or atleast time to download an emulator and rom.....get "earthbound!"

its great, biut dont judge it by it's graphics...i got it from my friend(he didnt want it, poor fool) and its tied with oddworld for my fav game!

you play as ness, a normal kid from onett(also seen in super smash bros.) who has a meteorite land in his town.
in the first ten mintues, you choose the names of the main characters(like a psychic asian kid named poo) and then set out on you adventure.
its graphics suck, i mean reeeeally suck, even for the snes, but if you can get your stubborn-ass minds across that mental barrier, you'll have the time of your life!!!!!

(p.s.=abebabe, its an rpg with great music, just like ff7!)

well, iof you're willing to spill out 30+ $, try ebay, but i suggest an emulator first. i got recommende the game by one friend while one other firend was getting bored of it....i kinda lucked out. hmmmmm, it os pone of the harder to find games, but try a rom first for sure, casue it takes a prietty odd character to appreciate the game for what it is.

I don't know why, but the name sounds vaugely familliar... maybe I have played it once before. We used to rent heaps of games from our local video store when we were kids for our SNES... so maybe it was something that I played back then.

A game doesn't need good graphics to be a great game. OK, so graphics make the game better, but IMO game play is what really matters. Like what good is a game w/ brilliant graphics and it sucks to play. One of my favorite games of all time is a game called Head Over Heels on the Commodore 64... it's graphics are real bad... 2 colors for the game play... max of 12 on the screen (if even that)... but the game rules!

Abe Babe...

Phew. Now we've got both my obssessions on one forum.
I'd like to emphasize Yemmling's point: EarthBound rules. I thought I was some kind of retard for loving a little kids' game at age 18.
But maybe the fact that I, bedazzled by Oddworld's exotic scenery, also love EarthBound with its sketchy graphics bespeaks the surpassing quality of EarthBound.

As your friendly neighborhood Glukkon would say:

yeah, it kinda remninds me of ren and stimpy and the simpsons...they're bothg shows built on ther consept that cartoons can be enjoyed by adults as well as kids. i think earthbound proves thi in the gaming industry as well as the new "conker's bad fur day" does.
im also glad theres another earthbound fan in the forums. after it bombed in the us its hard to find a good fan of it (besides at the forums at starmen.net, but i kinda have a bad reputation there because i like the xbox, in the midst of gamecube fanatics...ooo many an argument was hatched there)

Tsk. They're just mad 'cause the glory that is MO may not get to the Cube. Heathens.
I gotta say, though, I nearly cried when I heard Earthbound 2 (or Mother 3, if that's how you're counting) got canned. The previews looked awful nice.

yes, but like many games schedualed to come out but never made it to the runway, it probably would've ended up being a huge hit, but thanks to some dumb ceo's it's still just a creative thought cloud in some developer's head.
also, to avoid the depression we should all rightfully feel for the loss of mother 3 (or earthbound 2)and so many other titles of legend and lore (especially virtua hamster), i simply use the amazing force of insanity driven denial to push away all the tears i would've had to endure at the loss of some of the greatest games-to-be of all time *sniff*

Yes.
We'd better terminate this line of discussion, though, before we jinx OWI and Munch's Oddysse gets yanked.
