The ending stuff:

The ending was uncalled for IMO. If they wanted to kill Eli off so badly they should have done it somewhere in the middle of the game with a good reason. Not at the ending with a random Advisor floating in for no reason. Especially because we likely won't start episode three directly after this ending, it is a rather meaningless event.

Oh, little cocky, huh? No, I jest, I'm terrible at TF.

Anyway, I think that this will be my first purchase going along with a 360, Ep2 looks too good to pass up, and Portal will be funtimes.

Just finished Portal, it's awesome, Glados, and the turrets are great, I feel sorry for Glados in the end, but the ending is great, as is the credits song. I loved it.
As for Half life two, I found it a bit boring, but it seems to get better in the middle, I mean, *spoilers* Having the ant lions invade the prison is awesome.
Never played HL1, so am a bit confused about the whole thing, but I'm starting to figure it out, but why is the big bad boss of the alien empire, the conduct, human?
Gosh I hate him though. :K
Oh, and when Glados says in her song: "Maybe someone will help you, maybe black messa, That's a joke, fat chance"
What's that supposed to mean? Isn't black messa just an insitution divising teleporters, that went horribly wrong (From searching wikipedia, as HL2 was quite confusing)?

Much of the backstory of HL2 can be found in game, but often you must activate NPCs to tell you, such as looking at the newspaper cuttings in Klieiner's lab (Red Letter Day), which themselves are helpful also. There is comparatively little plot in HL1, all it tells you about are the major events that led to the Xenian creatures (headcrabs, Vortigaunts, barnacles, ichthyosaurs, and others cut from the game. Presumably also antlions) arriving on Earth and the destruction of the Nihilanth and its forces (freeing the alien slaves, enemies in that game that turn out to be Vortigaunts). What plot there is is largely unrelated to HL2, such major development takes place in the 20 or so years that pass while the G-Man has Gordon "employed" in stasis. The Combine are new to HL2.

Oh ok, so G-man is that creepy guy you see when you wake up.
Then who the hell is that bastard that's talking on the TV screens?
Oh, and while I was reading wikipeadia, it said that the creatures of xen were refugees from the combine, but do you find that out from HL2?
Anyways, thanks heaps!
Taking over the city now, when of my freinds said I have realy bad taste in games becuase I found HL2 as just alright, despite the fact all of the other 360 games I have are supposed to be the best. :P

The guy on the TV screens in that particular instalment is the old administrator of Black Mesa and currently the puppet ruler of Earth, as appointed by the Combine after he negotiated Earth's surrender to end the seven hour war as a desperate attempt to save the human race from extermination.
