Well, I was almost right. It’s not the first level RuptureFarms was supposed to reappear in, but the ‘first major outdoor area of the game’. According to Paul O’Connor in one of his designer diary entries:
:
This is a critical venue because it includes the tutorial areas for our quest system and character‐switching scheme. It will also be the first place that you will encounter (and possess!) a Paramite in the new engine, and it will additionally spotlight the return of Elum to Oddworld.
The region will also house the oh‐so‐spiffy Slog Kennel that was the centerpiece of the demo we did last month (and which has been ground zero for many of our design innovations on this job… check Chapter 5 of this diary for more discussion about the Slog Kennel). There are also a couple of Slig Towers, a free‐fire zone, and (oh, yeah!) we return to the ruins of RuptureFarms to learn….
…well, play the game and find out.

So we go there essentially to learn something, but since this never saw the light of release, we just don’t know. Odds are it has something to do with Molluck’s capture.
:
Question about AE: when Mudokons and Abe reached the Necrum, Abe fell into Mines. Then, in Zulag 2, he found his friends but they were working. Why were they working? Have they been captured by Sligs?
|
The real answer is that OWI couldn’t be bothered to programme in a behaviour that would only be used by five Mudokons, and then only briefly. They may indeed have been captured and put to work, or they may just have lost confidence in themselves when they were separated from Abe and are working to avoid capture.
:
And when Abe found them, and they entered the temple (I posted an image of it) they said that they have come to the Necrum, if they were working before?

I’m sorry, I can’t understand what you’re asking.
Oh, and it’s not ‘the Necrum’, it’s just ‘Necrum’.
