I heard from a friend that if you do something over and over and over and over again, you will keep doing it without trying to. What if you kept doing sittups, and at the top of your situp said "I'm not really dead!!" again and again, at your funeral would you sit up out of your coffin and tell Old aunt Mary that you weren't really dead? Hmmm... I doubt you could do that while dead, as all your brain cells and neurose connections would be dead too.

But it is true that if you start up a habit, it's difficult to break it. For instance, I once faked a posh accent at school just for a laugh... and all my friends started doing it as well... we kept it up for several days, and now I actually find it hard not to speak posh when I'm with my friends.

when i was in CALAFORNIA i kept up an accent with my friends for the whole of the vacastion, dudette!

i went through a phase of putting on a dorset accent, for no real reason. then, however, i started to speak in a dorset accent whether i wished to or not... i even managed to fool some people from dorset into thinking i'd lived there all my life [when we went on holiday to dorset]...

thankfully, i am now normal again... well, i suppose normal is a very subjective term...

So like in Florida I went to a swimming pool and I was playing with these american Girls and we were pushing Boys of the slide cos they were hogging it. And I tried not to do like an Kinda English accent so I kept doing these crap American accents and now I can't help myself! I just start talking like 'em for no reason!!!

It's funny cos I talk like an American at the most wrong moments!!
