@Nate: I do not hate you. I do not even dislike you. You are a competent person who I voted in as moderator. I do not even hate your political views, I merely disagree with them. But what I find truly disturbing is your open statement of using your moderator powers to enforce a vendetta against me. I have been called as evil as Khomeini, demented and a douchebag by you, and insulted at my own metaphorical funeral, and I do not respond with flaming, merely attacks upon your statements. In real life, if a judge held a strong hatred against one of the people he presided over, they would find a different judge to try the defendant.

Respect is a key issue here. We expect that every member will be considerate of other members’ feelings and opinions. Everyone has the right to express his or her opinion, as long as it isn't posted with malicious intent. Such things as offensive language, flaming, using vulgarities or posting sexually explicit material is deemed as a spiteful attack against the receiving member(s). You can discuss or challenge members' opinions, but do so respectfully and thoughtfully.

You may challenge that I myself have been disrespectful of the religious opinions of Muslims and those who defend Islam, but you will see that I have not used "offensive language, flaming, using vulgarities or posting sexually explicit material". The closest I have come is some mildly snappish remarks towards a person's ideas. The only flames I have posted are after a member seems keen to completely derail the topic or use bad logic (Such as "Your Declarations are in contradiction to the Supreme Declaration of Morbo! All hail Eris!") and even then, it is almost always towards their behaviour rather than their person.
I don't care if you hate me, just don't use your mod powers to enact a jihad (no pun intended) against me. I wish you a very merry Channukah and that you may find whatever spiritual answers you desire from Adonai HaShem. I also hope you live long, prosper and continue to be an otherwise competent and efficient mod.
