Mad SLIGS

I love sligs, and in my opinion they are not given enough thought. Whenever we talk of oddworld we talk of the mudocans, the scrabs and the paramytes but never sligs. Why? Sligs are the highest developed of the lot! Mudokans may be very inteligent but do they have robopants! Sligs have even developt technology allowing them to take wing and fly! So why not talk of sligs?

(yes i used Arxryl sprites in the animation, that's because i like them and i can)

Actually, sligs are usually pretty dumb and they didn't make their own pants or wings, they were just given them for being a slave race. And I'm not sure Arxyl will take too kindly to you borrowing his sprites.

And I'm not sure this belongs in the fan corner, apart from the animation.

Sligs are pretty much a talentless species. They can't create anything good looking, in fact, everything they have is created for them. That is why they are so good at being officers and oppressors. Because they pretty much hate everyone for being so much better than they are at everything. I can pity them, but there is not much to speak about them that we don't already know about them. What can you expect from trigger happy creatures with room temperature IQ?

Usually we talk of Paramites, Scrabs and otehr native species in questionable discussions, in the sense of there are many more things aboutn these creatures we do not know than about Sligs or other industrial species.

Your basis for wanting more Slig discussion, however, is incorrectly based. Sligs did not create their own technology at all, and most Sligs are fairly stupid, though I'd think this may be more because of poor environment, upbringing and so on as opposed to the species being less intelligent than any of the others.

And next time, think before you post a new thread like this, as I'm rather surprised it hasn't been closed or something yet.

And, quite frankly, Sligs seem to get more attention than other species often, such as the RP characters, and many drawings on deviantart.

Arxyl said he doesn't care as long as you give him credit... which in a way he sorta did. But ya Sligs are dumd if you listen to them in cutscenes and they are cool, but I've never really noticed large scale talking of Scrabs and Paramites.

If you wanna discuss Sligs I'm your man. You should check out my role play A Slig Who Cares. The fic focuses on a Slig that goes by the name Ugai. He explores Mudos in search of his true purpose.

As for the ways Sligs are in Industrial settings I also believe it it the from the way they were raised. Born with a nurturing nature I bet they could of developed to be much more if it wasn't for their cruel, abusive mothers.

Sligs are one of the most popular characters. Any lack of current discussion is perfectly in line with lack of current discussion about the other characters you named.

Sligs are pretty popular, as Max said. If you take a look in the Fan Corner, you'll notice quite a bit of fanfiction about them.

Question Question!

I think Sligs are like the cyborgs: they are using mechanich parts for moving, but the rest is all "organic"! But my question is... they are "industrial" creations or they born like "wildness"?
And... why they take orders by the Glukkons?? Only because Glukkons give them their pants and their weapons???? Sligs for me are one of the "Oddworld's misterious"!

Sligs, without their pants, are just creatures with skin, bones, and organs. But the mechanical pants and flightpacks just help them.
Sligs take orders from Glukkons because if they didn't, their queen and mum, Skillya, would eat them. I wouldn't say they were cyborgs.

sligs are born in captivity. they no no freedom. working for the glukkons is all they no. they have nothing else to do with themselves.

they are not cyborgs, the legs are robopants, like the ones in wallace and gromit. as are the chopper packs.

..... im not sure where the masks came from though. what do you think a slig would look like without a mask?

no problem. it's just, you only realy need to quote when you are refering to something. if the thing you are refering to it the entire previous post there really is no need. i was just wondering if you where quoting because you didnt no how to reply.
