Sam & Max

There was the brilliant LucasArts games but now Telltale have put together a new version. It's actually a series of six shorter games, each one taking a couple of hours. They're following a tv-series style of plot in that each episode stands alone but contributes to a greater plot.

Well, anyway, I finished Episode 3: Abe Lincoln Must Die last night and I must say that it's very near the top of my list of Funniest Games of All Time. It starts off with the Freelance Police being called to Washington to investigate the president, who happens to be a rather unintelligent hick who's saying absurd things and playing a scare campaign to win reelection. For one thing, he's discriminating against all those people with fudge. Oh, and the Vice-President is a potted plant.

As things go with Sam and Max, one thing leads to another which leads to the president being decapitated and the statue of Abe Lincoln coming to life to run for reelection. Thus Max (the psychotic rabbity thing) has to run in opposition and attempt to destroy America's most-loved President's credibility (and hold off Nader at the same time).

That's my vibe of the whole thing; I'd like to know if anyone else has played any of the new series.

I haven't played it but I've heard that they did a very good job living up to the standards that Tim Schafer set in the original.

"They're just about to put a new law about registering guns!"
"Get the keys!"

I wonder why haven't I noticed this thread before...
I got stuck somewhere in the original (Hit the road) and the only new episode I've played is #1. I got stuck in the demo when I need to get inside the white house. How do you do that?

You need to get the phone number of the payphone on the right then go to the office and dial it then put the Secret Service agent on hold.

I never played it myself (my brother did), but another Lucasarts point and click I actually played was Full Throttle. Found it in a bargain bin for $5 the other day.

Yay for ScummVM!

Full Throttle is awesome. I read a ranking of the top-10 adventure games of all time and it only missed out on being the perfect game because it was too short. Plus, it's the only game where you can see Tim Schafer nude.

What is it about your computer that every game I recommend for you doesn't work?

Dunno. It’s modern, and technologically fine.

That fellow that makes the "Concerned" (HL2) comic met the president of telltale once because he was wearing a Sam and Max pin.
