Yep! I can! Although, by the time I'm finished, someone else will most likely have posted before me. As is the ways of the Forum...
The Habitales are a series of Oddworld games that focus around the everyday lives of the Oddworld Inhabitants. There are no goals to fulfill, no specific events or levels, just all-round strategy, gameplay and satisfaction.
The Fearietales are almost the opposite. In much the same way, there are no quests or levels, but the storyline focuses on the mystical backgrounds we see in every Oddworld game - there's no gore, but there's a hell of a lot of horror. Gameplay centres around grass-growing and spiritual rituals more than ressurection and action, although they will be aspects too.
The first game in the Habitales series is Oddworld: Hand of Odd. In it, you take control of a great leader in one of three unique factions. Each character has his own personality, his own ambitions, and his own unique way of getting things done. There's a two-way system involved, too - gather Mudokons to start a ruin dance, and rehydrate the dying plant life, or move in the construction workers are replace that flora with factories. Sow it or mow it, hug it or mug it, there's a whole real-time system of gameplay, with no inventory, no weapons and no menus. Note that it is unknown what the three sides will be. The game will hopefully emlploy the Xbox's online capabilities.
All this is true as it stands. I'd recite the exact descriptions from the back of the PC AE manual, but I have the PSX version.
