Yep! I can! Although, by the time I'm finished, someone else will most likely have posted before me. As is the ways of the Forum...

The Habitales are a series of Oddworld games that focus around the everyday lives of the Oddworld Inhabitants. There are no goals to fulfill, no specific events or levels, just all-round strategy, gameplay and satisfaction.

The Fearietales are almost the opposite. In much the same way, there are no quests or levels, but the storyline focuses on the mystical backgrounds we see in every Oddworld game - there's no gore, but there's a hell of a lot of horror. Gameplay centres around grass-growing and spiritual rituals more than ressurection and action, although they will be aspects too.

The first game in the Habitales series is Oddworld: Hand of Odd. In it, you take control of a great leader in one of three unique factions. Each character has his own personality, his own ambitions, and his own unique way of getting things done. There's a two-way system involved, too - gather Mudokons to start a ruin dance, and rehydrate the dying plant life, or move in the construction workers are replace that flora with factories. Sow it or mow it, hug it or mug it, there's a whole real-time system of gameplay, with no inventory, no weapons and no menus. Note that it is unknown what the three sides will be. The game will hopefully emlploy the Xbox's online capabilities.

All this is true as it stands. I'd recite the exact descriptions from the back of the PC AE manual, but I have the PSX version.

This has been bugging me for a while, just to ask if these are correct:

Habitales- Hand Of Odd
Faritales- ???????
Quintology- AO, AE, MO

Or are the Faritales the exact same as the quintology?

More presisely, it was intended as a bonus game, not so much as to Abe's Oddysee, but to the Abe saga of the Quintology.

It would star an albino slig larva. Like many Earth species, Sligs aren't in favour of keeping misfits, and this poor little larva's 'quest' is to escape from the Slig Birthing Complex. Who knows what that creature would develop into?

Originally, it was to appear on a bonus CD released with an Abe's Oddysee/Exoddus combined package. The game would be as long as the Slig Barracks in AE, with 2 minutes of cut scenes. The CD would also include interviews with the OWI team, design artwork and other really cool stuff.

OWI claim they weren't interested, and wanted to move onto bigger things, but it's probably equally correct in saying the publisher's weren't interested.

Uh...I thought it was confirmed that there would be two sides in Hand of Odd. The are the Land Muggers (Industrialist species) and the Tree Huggers (Native species).

There are three sides in Hand of Odd. That's OWI's "gimmick" for the game - nobody knows what the third side will be...

Thinking along those lines, it's impossible to tell what the other two sides will be... They could be:

Mudokons, Gabbits and Industrialists;

Natives, Glukkons and Vykkers;

Natives, Industrialists and Wildlife;

Oh so many combinations!

I don't think the wildlife could be one of the race. I'm sure they introduce a new kind of characters.
