Happy Thanksgiving from the U.S.A!
(...I wonder if they have something to the effect of "Thanksgiving" on Oddworld...)

An essential amino acid (meaning you can't make it from other amino acids and organic molecules). It is present in turkey, and also has a sedetive effect, not that is has much effect, since the whole meal makes you lethargic.

What's a thanks giving?

The other day an american friend asked me whether my family does anything to celebrate Thanksgiving. I said no but that was fine as neither did my entire country...

Meanwhile, I've been posting on an MFC/C++ forum and asking for help but there seems to be no-one online thanks to the world's greatest concentration of programmers having a couple of days off.

So what did they call this year's pardoned turkeys? Freedom and Fries?

I recommend Weebl and Bob. Good turkey names.

I don't care what the hell the Americans gave thanks for, I mean, sure, I live there, but I'm still Russian so...I didn't even go to my dad's boss' Thanksgiving dinner, my parents did, I stayed home, played Abomination, ate Cheez-Its, drank Coca-Cola, and listened to the radio (go Tom Leykis and Dangerous Dick and Skibba). Now how's that for a Thanksgiving night.

The equivalent in Britain goes something like this:

6 year olds at school make some sort of arts and craft project based on this mythical idea of the Harvest.

The media comments on it being Thanksgiving in America, along the lines of...

"Ahah! The Americans are having Thanksgiving! Ahah!"
"Ahah! This does not affect us at all! Ahah!
"Ah!"

Yeah, Happy Thanksgiving. But the fact is the majority of my known family
is in Germany, so I don't know how they would take on yesterday. The
fact is my family of two here in America doesn't holidays and birthdays as
a big to-do no more-except maybe Chistmas. So we don't do much more
than go out and eat and enjoy the the day in a mild way.

Happy Thankgiving from America!
