Not that I am planning on getting one at the mo, but if I was I wouldn't go near any stores that day (or for the 18th...when the GameCube comes out). I would wait until the rush is over....

probably not me. around me, the stores try to rip one off. I must say this, DON'T GET RIPPED OFF BY THESE SCAM RIDDEN STORES! Take the local gaming store around me in Brooklyn, New York. I went there about, oh, two weeks ago. They said they would get about 200. There was one catch, you have to buy three games with the system at $500. Now, I went there yesterday and they said that there is a limited number, only, are you ready for this, 7 systems. 7!!!!! and the price went up to $700, in cash, no credit card! I aint paying $700, that's for sure!

Another case. A J&R in the city (Manhattan) that I go to said two weeks ago that they would have systems there, but that they were not putting anyone one a waiting list of anykind. I go to them yesterday and they said that they are giving the system away with two controlers, a memory card, and 5 games. And they said something about how it's first come first serve, after a waiting list got the first systems. SCAM!!!!! I'll just wait a while until all this hype nonsense cools down, which should be soon. I think I may get it around Christmas time, cause I aint payin no $700 in cash!

Yes, but if you wait, they might all get bought up, and youll have to wait until the next production in another month, and that would suck. I have to wait until Christmas to get my xbox, but im buying it tommorow, well my parents are.

A) I'm either first or second on the waiting list at my local stores (I was first in line but I think some of the people with "connections" with the clerks might have got in before me...)
B) I'm not going to be waiting in line...my dad will

C) I don't know how much of a line there will be...I heard that the store is sold out of all their XBOX's...

*Sigh* I never new that stores were taking lists ... and I have a guy in America who is supposed to be getting one for me. Trouble is I don't know how early he's willing to wait... so I have to hope that he's a lucky one.

Cause if he gets one ... he's leaving the US for Australia 2 days later which means I should get my Xbox on Monday (AU date)... which is quicker than any postage could be.

Anyway, back onto these dammed stores waiting lists... I read somewhere that stores weren't taking pre-orders so I didn't think any more of it. So my work collegue in the US (the one trying to get my Xbox) goes in the other day and played the Munch demo. He asked them about Xbox and they said they have 66 on the list, if they get any more it's first in best dressed kind of thing. If I had known about store pre-ordering (as opposed to online) then I would have asked him to pre-order for me 2 months ago!!!

So I just hope he is lucky to get one ... otherwise *sigh* I'll have to wait to play Munch.
