Happy LOST

I'm just curious how many of you are LOST fans here? Or have been watching season 3 for that matter? If you are and would like to discuss then this is the thread for you!

Also, a note to anyone interested in watching the series. I highly recommend watching it on DVD. While I was sick I rewatched Season one and two, and two made so much more sense in terms of flow by watching it without having to wait weeks in between an episode or plotline, etc.

I've never seen it. My obsession with Battlestar Galactica doesn't allow much else into my tv world.

I've only seen the first season on about a 20 hour all nighter. While that was fun I don't think I could spend years of watching a show without a payoff. Watch 35 minutes of the program in an hour, then not watch it for a week? I'm sorry but I can't stand that much television wanking. They writers are pretty open that they're just winging it and I find that both unsatisfying and offensive.

Neither the third series of Lost nor Battlestar Galactica have aired in Britain yet, so please, no spoilers!

Though with the recent move of Lost from terrestrial Chennel 4 to satelite Sky One, we can get Lost months earlier. The series two run only ended a couple of months ago, and series three is airing in the next few weeks.

I heard that Lost 3 will stop in the US over the Christmas months and continue afterwards. If true, then we might actually get ahead. Which will be a historic event, to say the least.

The third season of Battlestar Galactica? Some of the best television ever made. The first episode which is two hours long will blow your frakkin mind. By the way, go to the BG website and watch the webisodes which lead into season 3. There are ten of them and they are only about 3 minutes in length. They are fairly important to the coming season.

p.s. Lots of main characters die. That's all the spoiler I'm giving.

I know what you mean, except I do believe the producers know exactly where it is going seeing how all the seasons are fitting in together. There's a few minor discrepencies, but otherwise there are some pay offs that are all falling in place in season 3. The first episode will blow the viewer away guaranteed.

I don't think they know what they are doing. At all.
It'd be one thing if it was like Carnivale or the Mytharc stuff on The X Files but no. Everything needs to be cryptic and shocking and a "surprise" that its impossible for the casual fan to follow.
When everything is shocking nothing is shocking. Every episode just seems to be one more thing for the hardcore Lost lovers to have a nerdgasm to.
Edit: Gee, I am bitchy on this website, aren't I? I'd watch Season 2 on DVD but season 3 looks very stupid to me from what I have seen commercials for.

Never seen it. Due in part to my apathy or my prejudice that it's in that pool of shows like House, OC, etc. I'll probably end up seeing it eventually though.

I like House. It has a famous (at least over here) British actor pretending to be American, and fooling alot of people too.

I just don't like House because of how incredibly overrated it's lead is. The lead was praised so highly for such great acting abilities when his character is so one note. That's not deserving of praise at all.

I think the character of House (and Hugh Laurie who plays him) is great. The show, on the other hand, is so ridiculous as to make me yell at the television. The final conclusions are always either so ridiculously obscure and unlikely that they should never have been able to work it out or so bloody obvious that any half-arsed doctor watching the show can guess it before they do.

My Favourite TV shows:

House (Gregory House is, in my opinion, one of the best ever fictional characters around. His "House-isms" are what taught me stick up for myself at school)
Star Trek TNG/VGR
Spooks
Doctor Who
Torchwood
Blackadder

And of course Lost.

I dislike the recent episodes of Lost because it seems to focus just on the Tail End, with the exception of Locke and Jack (Locke used ot be my favourite but I've gotten kind of sick of him being the central character in nearly EVERY episode). I found the character of Anna Lucia crap, and frankly, I'm glad they got rid of her.

Of the new characters, I prefer Desmond and "Henry Gale" to the Tailies.

I hope in season 3 we will be seeing alot more of our old characters (I was kinda dissapointed at how often we saw and learnt about Charlie and Siyid in season 2)

And, am I the only person who thinks Jack's character is bland. His flashbacks are pretty boring, not really finding anything out about him (Eg. Locke's wheelchair, and disturbing incident with the kidney.) His character is boring. I find him the blandest character in the series.

* All the TV shows listed as my favourites, are in fact, the only tv shows I watch.

I used to drool over Ian Somerhalder, but since he'd been gone I kind of...lost interest...I don't watch it much now

Lost is absolutely terrible. I only watched while Ian Somerhalder was in it, and once they bumped him off there was no incentive.

And since most of these replies have been 'no, I don't watch that, I watch this!', I'll go along with that and say, !DOCTOR WHO! The best, most imaginative show out there. Even Neil Gaiman thinks so!

I love Neil Gaiman. I do not love Dr. Who. I tried to watch a little more of it and hated myself for it.

Try Torchwood. It's quite... different.

I didn't expect that much blood and sex from a Doctor Who spin-off.

I think the sex episode of Torchwood sorta ruined it. It wasn't bad, I just thought it's story was a bit much for the second episode in the series.

That's what internet + bittorrent is for.

I left the country halfway through the first season of Lost and downloaded all the episode I'd missed rather than force my mum to keep tapes of them all.

I watch Lost religiously every Wednesday with my dad. It really started to lag in the second season, but the third has picked up the story pretty well. Still quite a few questions left floating around- but hell, it's starting to make a wee bit more sense. Also, question time: how far behind are the episodes airing elsewhere in the world (if any)?

Series 3 is just about to start on Sky One (if they haven't already) in the UK. If it had stayed on Channel 4 we'd be waiting until next year.

I don't actually have Sky here at Uni, so I'm dependant on my dad mailing DVD recordings of stuff.
