Next gen gaming

OK, what do you think is the best next gen games console.
I recon it's the Wii. It's cheaper than the PS3 and Xbox 360, has Zelda and has cooooooool controllers.

I say 360 seeing how I have it, but also in comparison to the price of PS3 it's way more practical. Wii I still haven't researched enough, but it seems economically satisfying.

The PS3 is WAY to expensive, has a good chance the Blu-Ray will fail, you have to buy stuff not included JUST TO PLAY (HDMI-cable anyone?), and the games are said to be very expensive as well. Sure, they're blu-ray, but still.

The Wii: Is low in price, but still has this kiddie-console reputation. Probably isn't that good in the graphics.

360: Only bad thing I can think of is that you have to subscribe to Xbox Live.

I went with the 360. Wii next, simply because of cheapness and the fan favorite library.
PS3 will tank this time around.

PS3 has shit games, and theres rumours in the next EGM they have an article called "Metal gear solid on Xbox 360?" so if it ends up being true, I wont even need to look at PS3. (who gives a sh*t about heavenly sword? XD) apart from the sony fanboys saying it rocks cause theres absolutly nothing else to talk about on a ps3 coming out. FF7 remake you say? for 70 euros? screw that ill just play my FF retros on XBL aracade for 6 euros (for the points >.>).

Nah most of them as long as you configure them with your internet settings you can get free patches and support for your old xbox games, but if you want to get certain premium content or play online you need a XBL subscription.

I know its not really THAT good, but for some strange reason the mere mention sends me into a fanboi state.

Also, I do kinda think the Wii is cute and fun, and if given some cash would probably buy one....Its just...like that.

the xbox 360 is awesome, I just play it with my friend's so I don't need to get one.
I might get a wii, because it's cheaper and also looks fun. Controls seem cool too. Although the graphics are pretty unimpressive, I guess it all comes down to how fun the games are. The wii is mostly concentrated on gameplay, supposedly, so it looks appealing to me even though it might be kinda kiddy.
And from what I hear from this forum and other ppl around my town as well the ps3 is gonna totally bomb.

Part of me wants to vote for the Wii because my 360 has died on me after less than a year of use. But I can't do it :'(.

I stuck with a PS system all my life and intend to stick with it if I can. Naturally, after a few months I can buy the PS3 (even the 60GB version).
But there are two reasons that I would wait several months to a year before I buy it in hopes that they will fix those problems:

*No Dual Shock vibration effect in controller.
*Plenty of games with graphics not much better than the PS2's game
graphics.

Those might be pretty lame excuses and give you all the more reasons to criticise the PS3 some more but I'm sure people might have been criticising
the PS2 before it hit the shelves and look at what success it made.

Played with my friend's Wii today* and it was freaking awesome. All we played was WiiSports but it was still quite unlike anything I've ever played before. And I kick arse at bowling.

One guy managed to chuck his wiimote across the room into a brick wall and it survived without a scratch. He had forgotten to put the strap on.

*Seriously; any sentence you come up with regarding the Wii is going to sound wrong. Like how my female friend was discussing various guy's girlfriends and then added, without a pause, "we really need to get you a mii..."

I read an article on gamasutra where a bunch of analysts made predictions for sales this christmas. They said that the Wii had the lowest level of brand awareness but the highest potential because, more than any other console ever, people are playing with their friends and non-gamers are realising how fun it is.

Wii is also gonna cause a huge stir I believe because most likely due to it's lower cost more people will buy it and either people from the PS3 crowd will buy it as their secondary system as well as the 360 crowd too. I'd put my dollar more so on the Xbox 360 crowd also getting Wii, simply because PS3 is so expensive but I'm sure the price is going to drop seeing how sales aren't turning out too great at this time.
