I like Shrykull, how do you actually prenounce Shrkull? When I was young I used to say Shi-ri-kull. Now I say Shree-kull or Shri-kull.

You'd pronounce it Sh-ry-kull. Making the "y" sound like "eye".

I always pronounce it Shreye-kull, but I think it's meant to be pronounced Shriek-ull, for obviously reasons.

I never thought of it that way, Max. But sometimes
it does sound like a paramite shrieking after the
scrab howl. Other times it would be a hissing-like sound.
I guess it is randomly chosen by the computer.

about the scrab thing, they are more like horses in a pack. if the alpha male dies the lead female takes over. two alphas fight, the winner gets both packs. a male is born, it's forced out of the herd (those are the scrabs in the temples and vaults). so... yeah, they are like horses in almost identical ways.

Why do you think sligs are related to pigs, mudling? Is
it because the names rhym? I've compared many of
oddworld's animals with earth's just because their names
rhymed only to find they have nothing in common.

They do have things in common, such as a short tail, Slig mouthparts making their eating necessarily as bad as a pig's...

well, the word slig, is made out of the word pig and slugs, where as they would be the next generation of slugs on earth.
yes, you are right, and also, they are greedy, and unhygenic, like pigs are seen to be. and they look like slugs, and do not have any legs, like slugs.

Judging by the moving image I saw of a slig with no mech legs,
it almost look toy dinosaur with it's front arms missing and a few
tentacles hanging from it's face like a paramite. Quite frankly, I
can see why glukkons and sligs have such muscular limbs.

I believe that mudokons are humanoids with lizard-like features.
You can see that abe has a muscular body that quite tough. I
think all mudokons have that as their natural body, not to do
with some of them enduring the hardships of slavery. They
climb walls like lizards with their claws, which means they need
strong muscles to pull themselves up.

The ‘pig’ component of ‘Slig’ might come from the slang for a police officer. The stereotypical U.S. police officer seems to lend a lot to Sligs' personality.

hmm, that would make sence...
muds might be humiod lizards on earth, but in oddworld, they are decendants of birds. that's why they have the ability to teleport through bird portals.
their skulls are also made up in a simalar ways to bird's skulls I believe.

Muds don't have feathers on there bodies. Those are the ceremonial
clothing of the ancient mudokons. Like the native indians wore for
example.

You know, whatever graphics software OWI used to make oddworld
FMVs, they never detailed the ponytail object on a modokons head.
Some people seem to say it is their hair, but I think it's actual skin,
uh, strings or something like that. I can't think of the right word.

The ponytails are made of feather-like hair. They can be tied up like Abe's, or grow freely like the Native Muds in MO.

Those feathers on the forhead are decorative feathers. The natural feathers are the ones growing from the back of the head.

Yes, if you look close enough it appears the muds are wearing
feathers attached to a leather band around their heads or such.

No, that's the band they wear at the feather's base to keep it tidier then it would otherwise be.

Maybe those feathers are natural, and appear due to the hormonal imbalances of getting older/more badass, in the same way a human might get hairier (or less hairy ) as he/she gets older.

I always thought of mudokons as belonging to a vertabrate calss other than the five we have here (mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and fish.) The same goes for most of the other creatures with bald, brighly coloured skin: scrabs, paramites, glukkons, sligs, slogs, slegs, outlaws, wolvarks, fleeches, possibly slurgs, Vykkers and Interns. The others are all mammal-like, bird-like or amphibious.

I...see what your saying about the growing hair part.

You may have hyper, uh, coloristic eyes BM, seeing everything brighter
and more colorful than normal. But I see glukkons as dark creatures that were made to be ugly in appearance and behavior.

I thought it would be cool to have an alternate oddworld where the muds
are the industrials and glukks and sligs were the servants and slaves.

Even if that was so, I would still be hardpressed to to suddenly change
sides and switch to playing games where the glukks and sligs have to
save their races. And besides that, I guess the glukkons won't be really
having orange eyes of evilness, instead a pathetic helpless face. Judging
by what they're currently doing to oddworld creatures, that would be fine
by me.

I know they aren't brightly coloured! I was just trying to point out the wide range of pigments carried in the class. I mean, on earth a green pigment in animals is extremely rare, most green animals combine blue and yellow pigments. I'm just saying that bald creatures with a huge variety of skin colours have no real equivalent on Earth.

Yes, I have also noticed that many of oddworld creatures don't
have hair and fur. Instead they have rough skin or plates, which
makes sense do to the hostility and the climate of the planet.
