I think the Xbox and Gamecube are good names. Since the Eggs bocks has a BIIG X on it, and the GC, is a cube. Now, Dreamcast, Saturn (Don't look like a planet to me), or, indeed, Wii are odd names.

Now, Wii isn't the best name, it does make you think, what names WERE rejected from being the name.

Now what I was saying about close mindedness is that your minds have been etched into the fact about always playing videogames with 2 hands and moving your right and left fingers simotaneously, Nintendo brought that concept into being, and they can take it away, but the real thing is, which could actually be marking their own grave now that I think of it, is...

Taking into account that Nintendo is a Japanese company, how can they even call their console 'Wii' when there is only 'wa' and 'wo'? Ouii perhaps?

I was wondering whether it would just have a different name in Japanese. After all the NES was called Famicom in Japan. Has anyone heard anything about a possible other name?

I dont really plan on buying a Wii or a PS3 unless i get a job...i'm lucky i even got the 360.

But it would be awsome to own all three consoles.

As far as "The worst console name in history" goes, what about the TurboGrafix or the Cinclair Spectrum.
It's not really a bad name IMO, just a bit strange. I mean...If you don't like to pronounce it as We, why not call it the Why?
That could actually make a good add campaign...
For example:
Voice 1: Nintendo. Why?

I think that the Wii ( I am so wanting to call it the Revolution) will be a hit if they produce games that people are going to want to see. For example, New Super Mario Bros. That game was for the DS, but why not make a Wii game using graphics from the Mario Party Games, and make the game like New Super Mario Bros.using all the characters from the Mario Universe. They would make a solid hit if they did that.

Wii... the f*ck? Not the best name someone could give a console. Then again, it seems like companies are getting more stupid by the minute these days.

But as for the controler, I don't know what kind of freaky sextoys you people use but that thing doesn't look anything like any of the sex stuff I have ever seen. Please someone explain to me how that link is made!

I never reallly thought it as one really, and also, it'd hurt to much.

But What I think most people put it as is: Wii-mote, meet butt-crack. whatever, gross no matter what.

I personally think it's gonna do better than the PS3. Nintendo has way more die hards then Playstation, and I believe what people see in the PS3 is what most of them have already seen in the 360, it has a gamepad, and not just that, the SAME gamepad for their last 2 systems! you will say, "It works" I agree, but really, add something to that controller, besides Sony's version of the 360's "Big X" on their controller. Sure the PS3 has a Wii ripoff in their controller, but thats still small cheese. Gonna have a dynamic online service. Can anyone say, Xbox live?
Aside from the fact they stole the font for their name from the spider man movies.
The PS3 is Sony's mediocre answer to next gen. Might as well call it the Pii 360. sure the eye candy is great, but what I think people are looking for is not another 360-esque, but something new.
That is why I think the Wii will bii doing great in the runnings

The Wiimote has a built-in speaker. A BUILT-IN SPEAKER. It plays the classic "Do-do Do-de-do-do-do" Zelda chime when you solve a puzzle. Sweet.

Still getting it on GCN, though. XP

well, it is for the GC, but when you put it in the Wii, all those features are unlocked. you won't have to buy one for the Wii and one for the GC

and the Wii's version will have a widescreen format

With what I have learned of this system, it actually looks like the best one out of all three. I don't think they can beat this kind of quality. For god's sake the ps3 is going at $500, they better be able to dish out something better than this. The Wii is supposed to sell for $199 or less (so I hear).

actually, I heard the max is $250
and yeah, there's ports on top for GC controllers and memory cards
the back is pretty simple, 2 usb 2.0 ports, Power cord, and 1 SD memory card port

as for backwords compality, with GC, I think their disks will go into that thing by the blue light which is the place where you put the other cd's. Whoa, now that I think of it, I think Xbox 360 is the only one that kept with the cd drives that come out, the PS3's looks like you just put the cd in and so does the Wii's.

With the older games though, you will download via virtual console, games from NES, SNES, N64, Sega Genesis, and Turbo Grafx 16, therefore shooting Xbox live arcade out of the water.
