The Oscar awards 2006...

Anybody watching/watched the Oscars? I always watch it to get a kick, watching all the actors thank everyone and their grandmother when they win.

I think Brokeback mountain only won because it was so damn contreversial.

Anyone else have thoughts/opinions on the Oscars?

I love Jon Stewart, but (sadly) I had more pressing engagements.

I heard Crash won, though.

Oooo!

Nepharski, you tried to sneak in an edit when I wasn't in this topic! I gotcha, though!

You didn't really miss much, though. Jon Stewart wasn't that funny. Except for the beginning, when he's in bed with George Clooney.

I think Wallace and Gromit won, just because it was so cleverly made and took forever.

Are you sure you don't mean the Academy Awards?

Well, I suppose I will have to see Broke Back Mountain, considering Ang Lee got best director.

I do look foward to Capote though, which I hear got best actor.

Good stuff, good stuff.

Wallace & Gromit won best Animation. But not because it took so long, it won best animation because it had the best animation. A few scenes where so cool they didn't look stop motion they looked CG.

I'll be there on day

Martin Scorscese - 0 oscars
3-6 Maufia - 1.

Yikes.

Also, I'd like to say I'm very pleased that W&G won the Oscar. As much as I like Burton; Corpse Bride just blew. Watching hurt more than eight bitches on a bitch boat. I'm sure the emos were all weeping at the piano scene. If my man Tim got the Oscar for that travesty, then he'll think it's good and head in that general direction with his future films (rumor has it his new one is starring... Jim Carrey?).

Well, the academy awards were OK this year. i was totally expecting BrokeBack Mountain to win for best picture. I have to see crash. It looks good. I'm pretty sure Reece Witherspoon one best actress for Walk the Line. Wow, the performance of Truman Capote seemed really good. I have to see it. In my opinion, they used too much music. i could tell the music got louder when they thought it was that the person was taking too long. The awards this yar seemed alittle rushed, and John Stewert wasn't as funny as I thought he would be. It pretty good this year anyway.

Jim Carrey can be good, on occasion. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind comes foremost to my mind. And whatshername was bloody good in that one also.

A friend of mine on another forum told us (the forum in question) that most of the people at his school who tote around Nightmare merchandise haven't even seen the movie. They simply see this stuff at Hot Topic, ancesteral breeding grounds of the Emo, and absorb it.

Thus does the Borg claim another victim to its might.

I knew it. Nightmare eats emo kids like I eat hot cakes.

Poor bastards...
