Good News for Xbox Gamers, Bad for Sony

From the Official Xbox Mag:

"Kunitake Ando, President and COO of Sony, said during a recent interview with The Financial Times That the Xbox could force his company to Push Forward it's timeline for realeasing the PS3. Ando Said 'The Biggest threat to the PS2 is that the Xbox changes the industry's Life cycle.' He also Hinted that Sony now views Microsoft's game Console as the Prime Compeititor to the PS2, considering the Sluggish launch of The GC in Japan."

My comment is: I used to be a Sony gamer before the Xbox, Loyally playing PS1... I'm glad that Sony Now views Microsoft as a compeititor because that means better quality games, and better online plans.

I used to be an XBox hater, but I've got out of that mindset now, becuase the XBox gives us a win-win situation!

The way I see it is that if XBox sells well, then even more good games will come out for it, and games for my beloved PS2 will have to get better due to competition. But if the XBox does badly, then whammo! Price drop! XBox and Munch for half-price!

Although to keep on topic, I really don't think Sony has anything to fear; the PS2 is too popular to do badly. While it's true that sales of PS2 are getting lower, that's only becuase the machine is so good that virtually everyone who wants one has already got one. And Sony, like Microsoft, will get its profits from the games, not the console, and since the PS2 is becoming such a popular choice for game developers, due to its popularity with the public, I don't see how Sony can lose. Even if Microsoft outsells them, there's no way Sony are going to go out of business or anything.
