Slig. If you enjoy playing the Oddworld games then that very word alone should strike fear into your hearts. They are the henchmen of the Glukkon, the guys that do all the dirty work to make sure the Glukkons can have an enjoyable life without any stress. It is in these slimy meatbags nature to be ruthless and cruel to any Mudokon that gets in their way. But what happens when a Slig is no longer Ruthless, if you read on, then you will find out.
Chapter One
The Pilot
10 years ago, a mother Slig was being held captive in Rupture Farms. She was being beaten by Sligs. Eventually she produced three eggs. The Eggs hatched straight away and out came three baby Sligs, crying and wailing. At the same time, in Vykkers Labs, a younger, sexy Humphrey with an Elvis Presley hair style, and Irwin’s Father, Jeremy looking very old with wrinkles were in a lab of theirs. Irwin, only a child of 12, was sat on a chair reading a magazine in the lab. Humphrey and Jeremy were working on an Android. They were creating an Android for Sekto Springs. Earlier that year they had gotten a phone call from Sekto himself, requesting a robot worker. A Robot worker can never go on strike, it will never sleep on the job, it doesn’t need food, it can work two shifts and never expect any pay. Those are just a few of the reasons why Sekto wanted a robot worker.
Jeremy took a sip of his water, when Humphrey flicked a switch. The Androids eyes lit up. The gears on the inside started to turn. Jeremy went insane, and started to party.
“It’s Alive! It’s Alive!”
He had created every scientists dream. A Robot. The Droid sat up and got off the bed. The Droid looked Like a Slig without any skin. The Slig started to walk around the Lab.
“Quick, Humphrey, get the skin!” said Jeremy. Humphrey walked to a freezer and opened the door. Humphrey walked into the Freezer, he came of all the steam and smoke with a large green skin. The Slig walked up to Humphrey. Humphrey pulled the skin over the Slig and attacked it on with a few clips. A Slig was born.
The Slig spent a year at Vykkers lab, so that they could make sure the Slig had no malfunctions. During the year he stayed in the labs, The Slig was able to live through Jeremy’s death, see Irwin’s first day as a security guard, see how Humphrey invented the Robotic security guard called the greeter. But, The Sligs time came, and when it did, Sektos he Blimp was waiting at the docking bay for the Slig to arrive. The Slig walked out with two other Sligs.
Sekto stood on the Landing bay and scratched his chin.
“I recon it’s the third one” said Sekto. The Second Slig in the line came out and showed Sekto his controls. Sekto laughed and took him aboard.
On he went to his journey to Sekto Springs. In Sekto Springs, he enjoyed his job. He never got paid, but he was starting to develop a personality by hanging around with the other Sligs.
One day, the Slig was stood guarding the doors of Sekto Springs on a boat. He was telling his workmates the story of his creation, and how his pants are surgically attached to him, when several boats with Grubbs on them came up the Dam. Two Big Bro Sligs were in the water with boat pants. They spotted the Grubs ad pulled a lever on their pants. A propeller on the back of their pants started spinning and the Big Bro Sligs started to steer their way towards the Grubs. When they made it to the boat.
“Hi there” Said a Grubb.
The Big Bro Slig took a cigar out of his mouth a burnt it on his boat.
“Are you trying to get through or are you just on a fishing trip?” said the first Big Bro Slig.
“We want to get through, and just so you know, we’re armed Dude!” The Grub Said while punching his fish.
“You better be better armed than you were last time! You remember what happened to the Old Steef, right?”
“Oh No, you don’t scare us Dude! We were like, totally defenseless last time, t now we gots ourself a whole new army, full of Steefs and Grubbs!”
The Big Bro Slig shot all of the Grubbs on that boat and swam towards the next boat. A Grubb on the next boat yelled attack out loud so that all of the other Grubbs could hear. Flaming balls of fire came flying down. It hit one of the worker class Sligs on a boat and set him alight. The Ball was so heavy it sent the boat under. All of the Sligs on that boat unfortunately drowned, but our hero didn’t. He stood at the bottom of the Dam looking up at the Grubbs boats. The Sligs were coming out of the entrance like armies of ants, but they were all perished by the Grubbs. After a thrilling fight, the Grubbs thought they had had victory, they had killed every hunk of DNA that Sekto shoved at them. But our hero hit the Grubbs from underneath sinking the boats, blowing up the boats with gunpowder on them, until eventually all of the boats were down. On one of the boats, a Steef with huge horns came floating down. The Slig picked it up. He swam into Sekto Springs and climbed into the office of Sekto. Sekto was annoyed. His two Oktigi Guards stood still, ready to kill any Grubbs that came in his way. When the Slig confronted Sekto with the Steef body, Sekto took away the body and congratulated the Slig for defeating the enemy. When the Slig told Sekto that he was the only survivor, Sekto screamed with rage. Then to add to Sektos fury, the Slig told Sekto that he didn’t feel right just mindlessly killing people. Sekto reminded him that he was supposed to kill mindlessly because he had no mind to begin with, he was a robot. The Slig threw his gun on Sektos table and walked away.
“Guards, get him!” Sekto shouted as he pointed at The Slig. The Slig ran towards the edge of the Balcony, being shot at by Sekto (It only left a few bullet holes, it didn’t hit any hard drive or anything) The Slig jumped off the balcony, leaving Sekto to think that the Slig had died. The Slig landed on the floor leaving a dent in the bottom of his electrical pants, He ran away and Sekto never saw him again.
