I read an interesting interview in which Lorne said they had about a two and a half year period to make a successful transition into movies/tv.
One thing he did mention though was that there still could be OW games, but it would be on the back of a movie deal, so a movie and a game coming out troughly the same time. This would just be like how Pixar and THQ?? work, Pixar releases The Incredibles then THQ releases a game based on the film around roughly the same time.
In terms of how it would work at OWI is that they come up with a script, plot, characters for a movie then get an animation studio to do the actual production side of it while OWI overseas the project. The same applies to a game.
So the OWI headquaters in San Fran is the Hub of ideas, stories, characters and creativity, and they are letting other quality studios produce it for them.
I think this is really interesting stuff, and i'm super buzzed to see what they are coming up with. I think OWI has a real chance of making this work because they were/are seen as more of a brand, brand OW, than just another game company because they created and own all there IP.
