Seriously though, we do NOT have the life. A large percentage of us brits live in relative poverty, our economy is stagnating, house prices are getting rediculous, and nobody I know speaks eloquently. It's impossible to get a job, and even when you do get one, you end up taking out loans and mortgages that take 10 to 20 years to pay off, just so you can buy a house and a car. Britain is like a damn retirement island now, it's where fat 55 year olds come to buy an overpriced death nest, because they're the only people who can afford to live here.
Maybe the prevailing English stereotype in America is attractive, but the real Britain isn't anywhere near as pretty. I've considered starting my own business, working online, all sorts, but when it comes down to it, if you look at the figures you'll soon realise that it doesn't matter what you do, it's still stupidly expensive to live here.
