Sometimes I forget that people want to get different things out of music. Some are looking for pure musicianship. Others want something to dance to. Others listen for the art. Myself, I could listen to something made on a four track with an out of tune acoustic that was missing the E string and would thoroughly enjoy it if it was honest. I love honesty in my music. I'm not talking about the artist lying to his fans so that he can sucker them into buying their albums (although that pisses me off to no end) but the thing that gets me is when a musician can't even admit the truth to themselves. This is where the majority of stupid and pretentious music comes to play. I'm sorry but the half man half goat prancing around the forest protecting your chakra isn't real. It's the same way with religions. People pick and choose their faith as if we actually had that luxoury. I would make a bet with all of you that 90 percent of wickans know down deep that this shit isn't real (if there was just a way to prove something like that). So often we pick and choose our own truths just because they sound cool and they are easier to abide by than the other truth that was presented to us. Life sucks. It's going to continue to suck more and more until the day we die without a single hour of reprieve. We are alone. Noone does and noone ever will understand you. YOU ARE ALONE. YOU WILL DIE ALONE. YOU WILL CRY ALONE. That is unless you finally realize this and attempt to rectify the situation by no longer swallowing the easy truths and actually working to better yourself.

I have no idea how I got started on that and I want to point out that none of that was directed at Statick.

I love Industrial rock/metal...But all the "tr00" goths, metalheads, and rivetheads I know say that it's "poseur" music, so I get the inpression that I'm the only one that likes it...

I've listened to Therion a few times, it's really good. What other bands do you listen to? Cradle of Filth, maybe? That's the main metal music for me.

I listen to Cradle quite often, they have something realy good in them yeah.

never saw them in concert in belgium, the audiance is way to young

Don't you just hate it when the kids refer to Cradle of Filth as "gothic"? I hate Cradle of Filth and even I know that they're dark metal.

the thing that annoys me is when kids have a Cradle shirt and pretend to be metalheads or even goths...

in more then 50% of the cases they can't even listen a whole album of Cradle because they are not able to enjoy that kind of music

my point is, don't wear shirts just for the look of the band

I am sort of into Cradle. They're ok, and i can adjust to the vocals now. But a lot of the time, i'd just like something a little less aggressive on my poor brain.

Can anyone recommend an Anthrax album? Oh, and a Judas Priest album!

There are some less aggressive Cradle songs too, like A Dream of Wolves in the Snow. The variety in their songs are great.

I heard people refering Cradle of Filth as extreme metal, too. I'll look around for the exact.

I can't recommend any Anthrax or Judas Priest album, though...

Anthrax is great. They've released a lot of albums(almost 10) and they've had 3 vocalists but 2 are key. Belladonna and Bush.

Yeah, they're pretty damn good. Game Over, the Plague, and Out of Order are stupendous. Heavy, unapologetic thrash, just what the Dr. ordered.

Thrash. They predate the birth of Death metal by a few years, but it does sound like it from time to time.

Too true. One of my neighborhood bands (Consisting entirely of 13-year olds, calling themselves "The Messengers of Hades") is trying to be a Hate Metal band. Their lyrics are as such: "I HATE THE WORLD! IT CAN DIE! YOU DON'T LIKE IT? DROP DEAD! THE WORLD IS SHATTERING! FLAMES REIGN! HATE-" *Record skips* What a bunch of losers. They can't even play their damn instruments.

I'm currently into Metallica, but that's about it so far.

I seem to go through phases of different kinds of rock. My last phase was alternative rock with bits of acoustic rock splattered around. My current one is death metal with bits of old 80s rock splattered around.

Rammstein is lousy compared to german thrash bands like Coroner and Destruction, not to mention Sodom, Kreator, etc.

Has anyone ever heard of a German band called 'Einstendurzen Neubauten' (probably butchered the spelling)?

I believe they're a combination of punk and metal, and my godfather is really big into them. Apparently they're supposed to be pretty good/well-known.
