Cow Farm Concept
OK one thing that I thought would be good for this forum is posting our game concept ideas, so that HOPEFULLY somone will steal it and release it.
An idea I had was "Cow Farm". You basically start out with nothing but an aerial view of the world and some money. You buy a plot of land, build a farm house on it, a milking shed, and buy your cattle. Your cattle graze on the field and talk to one another about the weather and politics. As the farmer it's your responsibility to look after them and keep them happy - if a storm breaks out you need to go round up your cows on a little quad bike, which you zoom around on, and send them into the cow shed - keeping the cows happy increases their cow karma, which allows them to produce milk much faster. You've also got to keep an eye on your cows to make sure that they don't stray onto railroad tracks (I've got a VERY funny animation in mind for a train hitting a cow and it exploding) or into rivers, old mine shafts, roads, and other hazards. Once the milk-meter is full your cows are ready for milking and you round them up into the milking shed, and a milk truck comes along to pick up your milk. The more you produce, the more money you make. With your money you can buy things like farm equipment, more fields, more cattle, bigger buildings, etc. Or you can move your farm to a more strategic location like by a railroad, or near a town.
You advance in the game by expanding your farm, taking on employees, farming other stuff like grain and cow meat, and keeping your cow karma nice and high so that you produce lots of milk. As well as the single player mode, there's a (on PC; LAN. on console; splitscreen or linkup) multiplayer mode - in this you can form farming co-ops with other farmers and sell your grain, milk, and meat together to create even bigger empires, or compete against each other, and play dirty tricks like killing your opponent's cows, make cropcircles in his grain, and making the cows unhappy by cowtipping. These actions can be defended with your 12 gauge shotgun. The multiplayer games are saved just like the single player games, so you can always quit and go back to them.
And uh... yeah that's basically it.
MOD EDIT: Use this thread for talking about any game concepts you may have stored in your bizarre little head, people.
