Cow Farm Concept
OK one thing that I thought would be good for this forum is posting our game concept ideas, so that HOPEFULLY somone will steal it and release it.
An idea I had was "Cow Farm". You basically start out with nothing but an aerial view of the world and some money. You buy a plot of land, build a farm house on it, a milking shed, and buy your cattle. Your cattle graze on the field and talk to one another about the weather and politics. As the farmer it's your responsibility to look after them and keep them happy - if a storm breaks out you need to go round up your cows on a little quad bike, which you zoom around on, and send them into the cow shed - keeping the cows happy increases their cow karma, which allows them to produce milk much faster. You've also got to keep an eye on your cows to make sure that they don't stray onto railroad tracks (I've got a VERY funny animation in mind for a train hitting a cow and it exploding) or into rivers, old mine shafts, roads, and other hazards. Once the milk-meter is full your cows are ready for milking and you round them up into the milking shed, and a milk truck comes along to pick up your milk. The more you produce, the more money you make. With your money you can buy things like farm equipment, more fields, more cattle, bigger buildings, etc. Or you can move your farm to a more strategic location like by a railroad, or near a town. You advance in the game by expanding your farm, taking on employees, farming other stuff like grain and cow meat, and keeping your cow karma nice and high so that you produce lots of milk. As well as the single player mode, there's a (on PC; LAN. on console; splitscreen or linkup) multiplayer mode - in this you can form farming co-ops with other farmers and sell your grain, milk, and meat together to create even bigger empires, or compete against each other, and play dirty tricks like killing your opponent's cows, make cropcircles in his grain, and making the cows unhappy by cowtipping. These actions can be defended with your 12 gauge shotgun. The multiplayer games are saved just like the single player games, so you can always quit and go back to them. And uh... yeah that's basically it. MOD EDIT: Use this thread for talking about any game concepts you may have stored in your bizarre little head, people. |
So... basically like a big, more in-depth Sim Farm/Harvest Moon kinda game?
I like cows. |

I like cows too. |
Talking cows with "cow karma"... I like it muchly.
I immediately thought it sounded like a Sims game too... Has there been a Sim Farm that I don't know about? |
Ok, how about someone creates a Game Concept thread. where people talk about games that should be made and stuff.

I'll write up a few more of my ideas when I've got a spare moment. |
How does Harvest Moon play? I thought it looked slightly cool. As for your game, what about butchering them, or making cheese? No, they should make a game based on Animal Farm!
|
Cheese... I hadn't thought of that... how could I forget cheese?
Yes, there would be cheese. And I believe I mentioned butchering them. "sell your grain, milk, and meat". |
It seems new member names are prophesies of posts and sucess. CheeseOfGlory. Hah!

Urban Exploring concept
Here's a concept for a game about urban exploring. It's called Urbex.
The game is third person fixed angle camera, set in present day fictional location with many towns and cities. The aim is to explore the world around you find interesting little things, and everything is exploreable. Every single door openable, every glass window breakable. You can explore abandoned buildings, secret areas, storm drains, and much more. The goal is to take good photographs in zones declared as "explorer zones". You take these photographs to underground urban exploring magazine publishers, and you progress through the game by getting better contacts who give you more money. You use this money to improve your equipment and skills, which will allow you to get to harder to reach locations. Evading security gaurds, cameras, dogs, people, police, and hazards is key. Areas carry risks like asbestos, mold, dust, and chemicals which can harm your character's health if you walk through them without the proper protection. Should your character become ill, you've got to walk to the hospital and get treated, which costs you money and sets you back in the game. |
I've always had game concept floating in my head. Many are immersive worlds with no main goal, but just pure exploration games. So, I'm making my game a reality w00t!
The Smiley Scrolls. Its a complete pisstake of The Elder scrolls. And the characters are smileys. Thats my thing, just dont ask, because my answer wont be coherent. Its a 2d topdown view RPG. Sort of. http://s9.invisionfree.com/Dark_Geek...=39&st=0&#last Check here and DGD for updates. OMG GAEM |
