Stop ruining radio

You know what? Pink Floyd can go to Hell and they can take U2 with them. I've had it with people saying that they're so goddamned good. I've had it with my local radio stations playing 3 and a half hours of that fuzzy headed stoner b.s and topping it off with the entire ****ing Joshua Tree album. I've heard these bands way too much. Every year Live 8 comes and radio is ruined for a week.
You know, I sorta like Pink Floyd and U2, and can tolerate them in small doses. But I don't want to hear 2+ requests an hour, an hour plus long "Floyd on the 4th" Block, hear their reunion and Live 8 performances and a half hour of it every damn night at 10. I will hear, on average, a good hour of Pink Floyd and an hour of U2 with the potential to hear 6 hours of Floyd and U2 a week. I've heard some Pink Floyd albums about as many times as albums I personally own.

I haven't listened to the radio since I was 16 but that does sound pretty annoying.

Get shoutcast radio, it's much less stupid than normal radio. Gives you a much wider selection of stations.

I know, but my boss listens to this crap at work so much and always puts on the radio. Thing is, I work 5-8 hour shifts 4 times a week. Its not full time by any stretch but its a lot of radio. It also takes me an hour to drive to work. I don't like bringing CDs unless it will be a very long ride so that means the radio goes on. I listen to fully one day of the week to radio. This is a legit grievance. Don't tell me the U.K. doesn't have this problem, because it does.

Ignore the radio and do what you're supposed to be doing. Thats what I do when my fiendish classmates are blasting hip-hop through the radio in art class.

I never said the UK doesn't have the same problem. But UK radio is all crap and always has been. There's very few decent stations, and they're permanently glued to certain spots, the only things you can get nationwide are Radio 1, Radio 4, Radio 2, and BBC local radio for wherever you happen to be. All the other stuff you can only get on DAB digital radio.

So most of us either don't listen to the radio and listen to CDs, tapes, minidiscs, and mp3s instead, or live someplace where there's a decent station. Like London, and Bristol.

This is why I got one of those tape adapters for my car to hook my cd player in and listen to my stuff while I'm driving radio stations usually kill good songs by overplaying them anyways.
