Viroxide, I think it highly unlikely that Fangus is a Steef. The lionesque face is the only similarity, and even those features are obscured by his hat's shadow.

Speaking of tallying up one's kills, did anyone else notice that D. Casta Raider had severed thumbs stuck in the brim of his hat?

As cool as this might be, I still have some reservations. I really feel like if OWI was going to allow someone to break the news on their next game, it wouldn't be in GI. Also, Fangus, who lives in... Fangustan? I mean did they just run out of names or what? I still think this might be an April Fool's joke.

Whoa, that`s one seriously armed sheep herder ,must be a rough neighborhood.
Could be that Fangus got the 20,000 cash together and had the operation, don`t think he is hiding an extra set of legs in those boots.

Love the bullet holes and the combat sandals.

Considering that the Doc Vykker said that the de-Steefing operation had a "unique nature", I doubt that it's being performed left and right. I think that the Stranger and Doc cooked up the scheme for that one between themselves, it was never implied that it's a common practice. Plus, with such muscular legs as Fangus has, complete with feet, I doubt that they're surgically-altered hooves.

Also, I notice a lot of people complaining about the setting, Fangustan. Perhaps Fangus is the only one who lives there, and he named it after himself?

I hope to god that Fangus is not a Steef. I really don't like that idea.

I hadn't considered the idea of him starting out as a 'gentle giant' as someone put it, with cute little sheep, and then as some blight begins to take over, they become more and more twisted. Maybe not the most probably scenario, but still cool, and I like it better than the idea that he's a Steef.

I just hope that OWI eventually gets back to the pipsqueak underdog heroes eventually. Maybe they're going with these big beefy guys so that they'll have a fresh start, in a sense, for Squeek, who I assume will be pretty small. Not that I'm not completely in love with Stranger.

I also noticed that, but after I realized that when said fast, his name sounds like "The Casterator", I started to think that those weren't thumbs....... *shudder*

Surely his toes (no hooves), his tail, the fact his upper arms are as strong as his lower arms (no gorilla arms) and they're more in 'proportion' to his body show that he is not a steef? No? Ok.

wait, those bullet holes look like teeth marks, maybe he was bitten and got the dieseiese transmitted to him (that already is clear isn't it?) and also, i doupt this but, these could be the old pictures of stranger. one more thing, is that a parrishute and one of those blimp ships from muches oddesy or a ship the wolvarks use in strangers wrath? maybe they are from the invader? well, i do not think this is an april fools joke!

*edit* he could be some kind of were-wolf creature or somthing like that, maybe it comes with the deasiease. i hope we get info on this game soon!

Just went through 100+ posts to get updated since posting on the first page of the thread.

Wow, image confirmation on Fangus, my very first impression I got when I saw the pic was Stranger on steriods.

Can't say much more except that Fangus is carrying alot of guns (well 3, but he would probably get more or has lots of them hidden like in his shoe or something...) untill more infol is released, like in a April update to Oddworld.com, I hope that Alf does not go crazy from all the Fangus question his bond to get.

Anyway if this game does make it by next year I'm going to be real happy.

I'm still not sure what to make of this... I think I will reserve my judgement for when we have have some official info. If it is true then something tells me that it will be somehow connected to Strangers Wrath (whether it be a sequel, prequal or whatever). BTW, "Fangus" sounds so familar to me, has it been mentioned in an edition of the daily deception before or something?

outlaws are a speacies Tim H. C. and fangus ( if that is his real name) is trying to save his race (or is going to) and others, so, therefore he is a hero. however, i don't think strangers opinion on guns is the same as his opinion about people. hemight think fangus as a betralar but maybe he has his reasons. sheberds do not uasly have guns, do they? ( i mean, how did fangus get those guns? does this suggest the quote about him being put into a role to save the races of oddworld? only time will tell.)

The tail as some have called it looks more like a horn to me, for hearding the sheep things probaly.
As for his feet, i dont know, perhaps he isnt steef.
And when people keep asking why he has guns, the answer is in the article. They say he leads his sheep things to a prophecy land while fending off powerful and dangerous predators, therefore he uses his guns to shoot the cr*p out of any big things with teeth in order to protect his demonic sheeplings.
Oh and if "Outlaws" is the name of species for all the outlaws in the game, i will loose 30% of my respect for OWI creativity when it comes to characters. Outlaws refers to what they are and do, not their species, and despite that there are obviously 4 distinct different types, species share characteristics and physical traits, so they cant all be the same race.

Simply brainstorming:

Stranger's story hasn't been wrapped up yet. And that 'Fangus' character does look a lot like Stranger. Perhaps it is another Steef? Living in a similar predicament to Stranger - and eventually, the two's paths will cross?

Still, one of the biggest giveaways for its (supposable) fakeness, is the name of the character, and its similarity to the area he inhabits: 'fangustan'.

I also think Fangus is a steff of some kind, cause the team behind SW would not make another character that looks so much like stranger and then have nothing to do with him, and if you look at the picture his face is hidden.... maybe we are not suppose to see the features of the face, but you can almost hint steff likeness even in the face

Image looks very cool, but i thought oddworld weren't going to make stright blood and guts shooters? I remember reading that Sherry was against extreme violence in games!

I wonder in this is the new IP Lorne was talking about in an interview a while back, he said this character would issues.

Can't wait until this stuff gets confirmed or denied by Oddworld!! Fangus what a name though, soo cool!

Agreed. I love this guy, and I can't wait for info from OWI.

But, I don't want another Steef Hero :/ I want new Hero, with new speacies and story

Didn't Oddworld want to keep the same style in all the names of the games? It can't be just 'fangus'.
