Lost Boat? Max Moolah?

Two questions...

1. Am I the only moron who lost his boat mid-river? left boat in rock protruding mid-river to pay a visit to the locals, when I came back boat was gone. Yikes. Had to restart from saved.

2. What's the highest amount of moolah anyone has accumulated up to THE point? (:-) for the spoiler challenged). I had around 1000 after a shopping spree, my 12 year old has about 7 times that (she managed to capture a lot of bountees alive)

Heh, I don't have the game yet, being British and all. So, you can use the boat in-game? I always suspected it would just be seen in fmv's and stuff... cool.
