Those little things...

After finding myself watching Fight Club too many times, I decided to post this thread...

Are there things you see that are for sale, and are so horribely pointless, but you must own them? For instance- "Oh my gawdy! I must own that cup in the shape of a cup!"

This useless shit.

I find myself buying useless crap I dont need. Though I must have it. Ya'know? It aint a problem, but it sure costs money...

My GBA AV Converter. Behold it's greatness. Good for multiplayer parties. ****ing horrible for anything else. Try reading on this thing.

Do you find yourself buying crap you don't need? Or are you a money conserver?

I'm sort of half-way, I do sometimes buy junk I don't need, or junk that is pointless, but I also like to conserve my money as I don't get it that often.
My transformer toy collection is a fine example...

buying useless crap with no purpose that you don't need is the American way.

I, myself, recently bought a $100 Predator statue.... made out of motorcycle parts. It looks pretty damn cool, but besides that, utterly, utterly useless.

BUT YOU CAN POKE PEOPLE WITH THE SPEAR!

i don't usually have enough money to buy useless things.

when i was younger, i wasted my money on transcendental thing[that they are unimportant and fleeting, both in terms of life and my interest in them], but now i don't have that luxury.

i do buy cigarettes, which some would see as a waste of money.

When I was a kid I bought all kinds of crap that I didn't really use (pretty sure every kid does this), but I stopped years ago. I've got a whole lotta money and nothing to spend it on, so I just keep saving it up. Someday I'm going to need that money and I'll think back and go "I'm sure glad I didn't spend it on THAT crap" and then I'll spend it on some crap.

I spend to much money for all those little things like music CD's or going to the movies or things which I think I really really need and normally don't need at all.
Yesterday I bought two CD's in the USA just because I heard some songs of the bands while I played Project Gotham Racing 2. Something like this just happens too often.

I buy useless things all the time. For example, a few weeks ago I bought one of those pin sculpture thingys. And sure it was cool for about 8 minutes, then I got so bored with it. Now I just leave it in my room waiting to be sold on ebay. Once I get my damn paypal account sorted!

A model is usless ain't it?. I once bought a really comlicated lego piece it had 7899 pieces in it and I was one proud man when finished doing it up. So I set it up in a position so visitors could see as they walk in my room. And then my 4 year old cousin came over and stayed the night I wake up next morning and I find my master piece ruined! (He pulled it apart and ate 24 pieces).

People still buy music CD's? I download my music off of LimeWire, its probably the best P2P program out there.

OoOh, you little pirate. Get out of my store, you little hooligan!

I wish I could download music, efficiantly, but since I have the curse of Dial up 56k , I must purchase CDs. OR wait 30 mins to download one song.

I couldn't get Soulseek to connect with any songs, so I use KLite and Warez.

Back on topic, I don't really buy stupid things, but I can't help buying DVD box sets. Seriously, I. Love. Box sets.

I would buy those if they weren't so damned expensive.

Yes, box sets are annoyingly spency... As in, Futurama box set = $129 NZ dollars (Uh, about $70 US dollars, I think). Just an example. Try looking at the LOTR box sets... Ridiculous! It comes with a "free" Gollum model that looks like it was painted with felt pens. It is horrible. And the price of it- yeesh.

I bought the 10 disc Ultimate Matrix Collection. I got the one without the Neo figurine though, I'm not paying an extra like $50 for that. And the cases weren't as cool with that one either!
I still haven't watched it all, but you know, my friends are impressed.

All I spend my cash on are computer games. I rarely find any other useless junk interesting, except for magazines and comic books.

Oh yeah, comic books. Those things are expensive. I guess the paper quality is high and they use a lot of ink to print them, but they still seem ludicrously expensive. Actually I buy graphic novels as opposed to traditional comic books, but same diff. Well not really. But you know.
