Stranger's wrath challenges

I am a rather obsessive compulsive gamer. When I play games I need to beat them perfectly or go through the entire game with some self imposed handicap. In AO & AE I played them until I rescued every Mudokon, in my endless need for gaming perfection. Playing through Stranger’s Wrath I saw plenty of opportunities to make the game more challenging. I don’t know about you, but I thought the game was rather easy.

I have though of a couple of “challenges” that I am going to try and want some feedback on other ways to play through the game.

Zapfly challenge:
Play though the entire game only using Zapflies. I tried this one but wasn’t able to get by Sekto’s two glocktigi. I keep on losing all the bookcases and then they make quick work of me.

Capture everyone Alive:
Don’t kill anyone that can be captured alive. All the outlaws, bosses, etc. Of coarse some of the enemies can only be killed, so those don’t apply.

Zapfly + Everyone Alive??

Combo of the first two. I don’t know if this is possible. I don’t know if all the Outlaw bosses can be captured alive with only the zapfly.

So that’s a start. Post any other challenges that you can think of, or gloat if you completed any of them.

I myself thought it was too easy also. I have even done what you suggested ,but same problem with the gloktigi.

I also recently did a inch by inch search of the whole game searching for easter eggs. I didn't find anything ,but I've gotten to every ledge ,hole ,everything that wasn't meant to be gotten too ,but I could find my way to some how.

This is a ton easier in the umm.. later levels cuz you can make a run from a standing point making it less difficult because then you dont need a running start to jump somewhere.

I really wanted to do that during the timed section. I have this feeling that I missed something during that section.

How about level challenges. I haven't done or thought about this at all, but I can usually come up with stuff off the top of my head.

How about in the Lootin' Duke level, you can only use fuzzles on enemies? You can't punch, melee, or use any other ammo types on them. Good one? Probably a little too easy for you Brom42, but for me it's a challenge

Wow, I think that you would have to have the exact positions of every enemy memorized. If anyone can go through just a level without getting hit needs to record that and post a vid. That would be very impressive indeed.
Now, if the person gets hit do they have to start from the last save or start the game over from the start?

Level challenges are a great idea. You can make the requirements a lot more strict. I can't remember right now, but how is the fuzzle supply in that level? You'd either have to avoid a bunch of the bad guys or be 100% accurate. Man, would you even be able to beat lootin' duke without running out? I am not really a fuzzle user, so I don't have a great idea of exactly how much damage they do. I guess the only way to find out is to do it.

Well actually in the timed part is where there is the most places to jump too I found.

Today I might figure out how fast the quickest run is on "In the dam" and put on here to see if anyone can do better.

I am double replying again but when I Said "run on In the Dam" I meant the timed part.

off topic

I was just looking at everyones public profiles, now I am starting to feel old

But more on topic. To clarify things, I meant challenges like in personal challenges, not as in I am challenging anyone else. This was meant as just a fun discussion, nothing serious. Although those prizes would be nice

aw crap, I just realized I spelled challenges wrong in the title. Xavier fix please!!

I would, but I don't have Xbox live. No offense, but there are way too many spastic 13-14 year olds. It ruined playing the original Halo online. I just haul the thing to friends houses/lan parties and play everything locally now.

I also played the single player through once and haven't played the game at all since then. (way too many other good games out there right now) So you would probably kick my ass

Kind of. I preorder all of my games, so I always try to beat the game before the next one arrives in the mail. Luckily Stranger's Wrath was the last one in a steady stream of games that started in September; so I will have plenty of time to play it multiple times. IMO it is going to be a dry period until the new GCN Zelda comes out. I guess I will have to finally get HL2.

Thats easy, all of them that were released in the US on Nintendo consoles. I have been a huge zelda fan since day one. I remember bugging my parents the day the original zelda was released so they would buy it for me.

I just got done playing BS-Zelda and just bought a CD-i so I can play Link: The Faces Of Evil and Zelda: The Wand Of Gamelon. I still haven't found a copy of Zelda's Adventure. Linkage to the CD-i Zeldas.

There, edited the title and tidied up those double posts. Just stop talking about Zelda on the Oddworld discussion forum, and I'm a happy man.
