Hello
This started out as a plea for help, but it appears I have found a solution and wanted to share it with you in case any one has similar problems.
Each time lately that I tried to load Abe's Exoddus onto my PC, I kept getting an error message:
16-bit MS-DOS Subsystem
C:\Windows\System32\Autoexec.nt The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.
Clicking 'Close' or 'Ignore' both causes the programme to quit. I looked on the Microsoft website and discovered the page I needed:
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;324767
This explains that you need the Windows XP disc in your drive and to expand three specific files, saving them to your system folder.
I did this and I was able to load the programme at last. Just thought I would share that with you
