Bones equals Moolah. It's U.S. slang.

I'm sure that transcript has been posted twice before, along with an explanation of ‘bones’ each time.
You mean no one else says that?!
Anyway, I think Stranger is going to make a great impression on the gaming world this year, So stay close to your T.Vs for Stranger reviews too.
Plus I still want to see a Stranger's Wrath commerical on T.V

No one wants to hear one of my long-winded reviews, so here's a little abbreviated review of what I've played so far.

Gameplay: 4.5 out of 5.
Pros - Innovative. Fun to hunt ammo and elude enemies. Stranger's "gallop" is awesome.
Cons - NO CROUCH!!! How do you have a FPS (even a pseudo-FPS) without crouch?! What the Hell?!

Graphics: 4 out of 5.
Pros - Great atmosphere/scenery, even greater CG movies. Smooth character animations.
Cons - Piss-poor shadows and lighting effects.

Music: 3.5 out of 5.
Pros - Oddworld's musical goodness and exciting tempos with a western twang.
Cons - Relatively unnoticeable at times.

Sound: 2 out of 5.
Pros - Buzzing insects, talking ammo. Decent humor.
Cons - Scratchy, garbled voice files. Really takes away from the experience. Oh, and Stranger DOESN'T HAVE TO GRUNT EVERY F*CKING TIME HE JUMPS.

Overall: 4 out of 5.
Bottom Line - A breath of fresh air as far as FPSs go. Multiplayer would have been nice, but the single player game is entertaining enough. A definite buy for OW fans and action fans alike. Cliche Halo fanboys may want to rent it first. In the end, this more than makes up for the massive failure of MO. Nice work, OWI.

Yeah, I graded a little harshly, but that's just how I do things now. I also didn't include a "plot" grade because I haven't got to the "big" surprise yet, but things are just starting to get interesting.

And yeah, I said this game would suck. Honestly, I'm glad OWI proved me wrong.

When you look at some of the offical pole votes on games people want and you see Stranger up there, it reminds you "hey there are more then a small strange collective of us who really like Oddworld too!"

There are a lot of morons that review games. I just saw the Xbox Addict review. Some interesting quotes:

"Electronic Arts rendering of Oddworld is a bit different than what players are used to."

"...the facelift EA gave to Oddworld is amazing."

"Approximate Time Played: 6 to 10 hours" (I'm sorry, but it is very unlikely that this guy beat the game in that amount of time...)

Of course there was also the IGN review that was changed three times. They said it was impossible to catch all the boss bouties alive, and said this was a major flaw.

I've stopped reading reviews now. I'm relatively uninterested in what various reviewers think of the game.

EDGE, GamesTM and the 3 reviewer system in EGM are the only ones I look to. We have a 10 day return on all games at our biggest retailer here in the UK so we can kinda rent anything before trying it...for free. But it doesnt really matter, it's word of mouth and demos that will make people buy it

I only look at EGM's reviews. Everything else is either too biased or just unreliable slop. Yeah, I'm looking at you IGN.

With EGM, you get three short reviews that give you a general idea of what's right and wrong with the game. Good read.

Got another review, it from the dutch magazine Gamepro.

I will translate the verdict:

81/100

Graphics: What can we say about it. Absolutely amazing. Topscreens on Tophardware.

Controls: Controlling in first and third person view is normal. But Camera control is rubbish.

Freedom: If you go for aggresive shoot-out or stealth. It is up to you.

Originality: Shooting living ammo is a nice innovative concept that is very affective.

Or something in that direction, had some trouble finding the right Enlish words >_<.

Thanks Erwin. There's a GamePro on the Internet; is it the same one?

There are many, many more reviews than those mentioned in this thread, but I felt I should point one out, because there are such hilariously stupid things said in it. TheManRoom.

:
While I admired the previous Oddworld titles’ artistic design, I could never get into the unimaginative and redundant gameplay.
:
The number one priority of Oddworld Inhabitants for the sequel should be to get the first-person mode of this game on Live.
No, their number one priority should be to produce a sequel with high production quality, a fantastic story, engaging characters, exploration and satire of contemporary issues, vivid design and justifiable expansion of OSW's gameplay.

:
Instead this is the first entry in the series that is truly first class on all fronts – from the design to the gameplay to the audio and back again.
Okay, this guy has seriously never played the first two games.

Sorry for the late reply, never noticed your post before.
The site isn't the same for the magazine. I assume you mean gamepro.com as the site?

Meh, I hate it when people don't make the differentiation between an EA published game and one that EA developed internally

:
The gimmick in EA Games' new "Oddworld Stranger's Wrath" is its weapons system, which isn't like any you might expect.

The new OAXM gave Strangers Wrath 8.7. Games TM, Australian Edge and another magazine all gave SW 9 out of 10. Isn't that great news!
