Where do you all want to live in the future?

Hi guys,

I was just reflecting on life and I was thinking about where I'd want to be in the future. I'd love to live in places near to my family. I have very little Malay and Maldivian and Northern Indian blood in me and they all seem to be really beautiful places. I stayed with my great aunt in North Male (Maldives) 2 years ago and it is the most beautiful place on Earth, I only stayed for 3 days though (VERY PRICEY!) I'm gonna save up and go there again, it's amazing. Also, Redang Island in Malaysia is where a lot of my family lives too, it's also amazing-I'd want to live there too. Finally, North India is incredible-all of the tigers and palaces and stuff. It seems really cool too, although I haven't been there.

London. New York. Paris. Tokyo.

In that order. I'm thinking Esus is gonna say London.

Looooooooooooooondon.

Edit: I'll elaborate. Ever so slightly.
Though it naturally costs an arm and a leg, I would ideally like to live in a flat in central London; and I would ideally like to work in central London, close to my flat. The BBC would be a nice organisation to work for, though I doubt I'll take that route.

Away. From here. The south. Specifically, away from the oppressive, erratic humidity we have.

I couldn't live in Tokyo. Even that's a little too crowded for me. Plus Japanese is hard to learn. Not as hard as English, I'm told, but still.

Canada would be nice.

As far as the states go, I would go for Arizona, Florida, or California/Washington area. Florida and California because the have a large gaming industry; Arizona because it's just so damn beautiful.

Or maybe Chicago. I really like Chicago. No joke.

Somewhere nice and peaceful but just outside some city near the ocean. Maybe somewhere like Florida or California. Possibly one of the Carolinas, but they're a bit too much like Tennessee for me. The only big difference is they're not landlocked.

My pale skin is not sunshine-friendly, but my love for the water more than overshadows that.

I liven near the BBC Studio in Maida Vale. I think they have two more in either Shepherd's Bush or Notting Hill-can't remember. It's the biggest BBC Studio. I'll probably end up staying in London though, probably even Maida Vale. It's nice here, only 5 stops to Bond Street (from Westbourne Park) and bordering Paddington, so I guess it kind of is in Central London as the local borough is Westminster. AHA! I remember now, the other BBC Studio is in Shepherd's Bush (Wood Lane).

You're lucky, you were born into London. I'll need a ton of money just to buy a small flat. I saw a TV programme about some people buying a flat in Hackney. They bought one for £103,000. The centre prices are probably way, way, way beyond my comprehension...

Is £103,000 that expensive? A fairly average apartment round the corner from me sold for $500,000. *pulls out calculator* That is £253,206 in your terms. And I don't even live in a particularly expensive area.

I'll probably stay here in Sweden, most likely in some small town. But it would be cool to live in England for a while.

Not really, but I'm taking into consideration that English house prices are sky-rocketing. I'd have to kill all my Family (and get inheritance) to get enough money to buy an appartment in the city centre. Then again, I don't know how much the prices will be in five years or so.

I'll do a search for one-bedroom flats in central London. Then again I could live in a hostel until I can afford a tent. Then I could live in Soho Square in my tent!

Lol. Well I didn't mean bad places with beaches. :P Some place nice, not necessarily exotic... just a place with nice scenery. I'd prolly wanna move somewhere somewhat isolated when I retire.

Aruba has pretty awesome beaches too.

In the Carribbean I believe. As stupid as it sounds, even though I've been there I'm not sure where it's at. It's quite beautiful and a great place to vacation.

Essex (an overcrowded county in south-East England) is full of them. They used to be villages, except the housing demand is very high around here, so they quickley changed into small towns. They're certainly not villages anymore, yet still too small to be proper towns.

Anyway, as for me, I have no goals and no real ambition. I wanna drift. . . See where life takes me. Essex may be a really bad place to live, but my part of it is quite nice. . . It's also very easy to get a job here, too. Maybe I'll stay here if what is left of the green areas around here doesn't get obliterated by housing developers and the government, before being covered in yet more concrete.

I certainly don't want to live in a dirty smelly city. . . They don't appeal to me (though maybe I wouldn't mind living on the outskirts of Sheffield or another city like that one). If I was to move away from here, Wales or somewhere in Wiltshire both seem to be a nice place to live, except getting a job there may be very hard.

Enough rambling, though. No-one's reading this.

Hackney is really near central, but is very 'East- End'. Buying a flat in any one of these postcodes: W1, WC1, WC2, NW1, NW8, W2, W8, W9, W11, W14, SW1, SW3, SW5, SW7, SW10, EC1, EC2, EC3. EC4 etc... will average ALOT! Here are Findaproperty's averages for Central London Areas:studio flat £ 217,204
1 bed flat £ 302,977
2 bed flat £ 456,675
2 bed house £ 696,371
3 bed flat £ 767,917
3 bed house £ 1,036,875
4 bed house £ 1,514,457

Whereas Kensington and Chelsea prices are very high:studio flat £ 205,989
1 bed flat £ 324,410
2 bed flat £ 557,330
2 bed house £ 751,535
3 bed flat £ 841,287
3 bed house £ 1,204,211
4 bed house £ 1,577,222

Maida Vale and St. Johns Wood prices are also very high:studio flat £ 194,787
1 bed flat £ 263,556
2 bed flat £ 361,552
2 bed house £ 492,669
3 bed flat £ 520,914
3 bed house £ 1,256,944
4 bed house £ 1,032,635

He quoted a bad area. London is the most expensive city in the world before Tokyo. The most expensive house in the world sold here in Kensington (W8) for over £110,000,000! A Persian tycoon bought it.
If you want a taste of how high London prices can be, just look at this link:http://www.rightmove.co.uk/rm/action...B901356E75B778

and in the area box, search up 'London'

I was hoping I'd run into Dot Cotton and Dirty Den but I was thoroughly dissapointed.

As for the prices, tent it is. Unless I can get a Girlfriend in Central London and move in with her. Or live on a boat by tower bridge. Or share the price with several other wannabe Londoners. Or buy a really cheap council estate scummy house.
