Random Favourite Song

Have you ever found one song that you absolutely love from a band or person that you otherwise can't stand?

For instance:
  • Many years ago I used to love the song '2 Become 1' - until I found out it was from the Spice Girls.
  • 'Jogi' from the Punjabi MCs has a great beat.
  • I normally hate Eminem but I really liked 'The Real Slim Shady'.
  • My current favourite song is 'Nosebleed Section' from the Hilltop Hoods.

The last two are especially noteworthy as I generally can't stand rap music.

Ummm... You've missed the point of this thread. Its for when you DO NOT like the person (in general) but do like ONE song.

Do try to keep up.

I actually liked that song from the movie 8 Mile by Eminem (even though I can't stand him). Was it called "Lose Yourself"? and as much as I hate to admit it, the song "Toxic" by Britney Spears (whom I loathe) is actually catchy.

...Odd bless you.

A tune I enjoy from an individual I otherwise experiance distaste for? I must contemplate this...

"Dancing Fool," probably.

'Eternal Flame' by the Bangles. Creepy stalker implications.

That one part in that one song by Lincoln Park when they yell "Shut up!" repeatedly actually made me giggle a bit. This one is probably the one I'm most ashamed of.

I remember being fond of an Eminem song a while back, though I can't remember the name.

Of the little I've heard from ICP, I remember them having a somewhat amusing verse about a chainsaw in one of their songs.

Meh... that's all I can remember right now.

I have only had two experiances with his music. One was most excellent...the other was...shall we say, "less so."

A 50% batting average is, in this case, "unsatisfactory."

My appologies if you are, in any way, deeply offended.

What was the other experience? I'm guessing you haven't heard any of his orchestral music. I'm also guessing that the other experience was "Jewish Princess."

The last few weeks I've been enjoying Robot Man by Regurgitator which is not a song that I would normally like, but there's just something about it.

For some strange reason I felt compelled to buy a deeply-discounted Less than Jake CD about a year ago and so far I've gotten into the band. For a guy into oldies, gangsta/west-coast rap, and metal it seemed pretty damn weird at the time.
Edit: Fave songs would be either How's My Driving, Doug Hastings.

Losing Streak, I believe? If you bump into it at any reasonably good deal, I'd suggest you pick Hello Rockview if you're into Less Than Jake. Quite honestly, I'd consider it their finest work.

Random songs... Blah.

"Faint" is about the only song from Linkin Park I truly like.

"Lifestyles of the Rich and the Famous" from Good Charolette. Decent comedic value.

And... Well, most bands I hate, I usually don't buy the CDs to. Thus making it a bit hard to find that one random song I like.

The title escapes my memory...come to think of it, I do not entirely recall if it was he who preformed the song.

...something about dragons...

Anyway, it was very unfair of me to assess this Mr. Frank Zappa, based only off of only 2 songs.

No, I have not heard any orchestral music created by him...at least, not to my knowledge.

Dragons? Dragonmaster? I think that was only performed during a soundcheck one time. I don't know of any other songs about dragons, but the lyrics to Dragonmaster are pretty ****ing funny.

I hate Franz Ferdinand but all their songs are catchy and I find myself humming them, much to my dislike.

The safety dance - men without hats.

that said, I've never heard anything else from them so I can't decide on whether I like the band as a whole or not.
