The Community is proud to present: The TC Half Life 2 Contest!
This contest is the verry first contest to feature on The Community. Initialy I was planning to start this contest when the main site was up, but since that has been delayed (again) becouse of a major reorganisation Il host it on the forums.
Anyway, the contest. With Half Life 2 being the absolute hype at this moment, what better subject to choose for a contest?
What to do?
To take part of this contest, we are taking a call for your writing skills. The asignment is to write what you think will happan in the next part of Half Life. A fanfiction about Half Life 3 if you will. The fiction can be as long as you will and can be written in any way you want.
(For example:
-Normal story style
-Movie/game script style
-Per chapter
ect. ect...)
The eventual judgement is not going to depend on the way you wrote it, but what you wrote it about. The Half Life serie's is good becouse of the graphics, the quality of the game but most deffinatly also becouse of the great story line. The goal is to try and carry on this great story line in a fanfiction for Half Life 3.
I have absolutely no demands for this story, I trust die hard Half Life fans know exactly what they want to see in the next story. Only tip I want to give is that for a story like the Half Life serie's, its important to link back to the past every once in a while. So don't let Black Mesa and City 17 get forgotten.

The Prizes
The most important part in any contest, whats to win?
The prizes that are going to be given away in ANY case are the following:
Best story: Limited Edition Half Life 2 T-Shirt, short booklet with excerps from both Half Life 2 PRIMA official stratagy guide and Half Life 2: Raising the Bar.
Second best story: Half Life 2 Poster
Now, I also just happan to have an extra copy of Half Life 2 (PAL version, sorry American guys) laying around.
This copy will be passed out as first prize, given this contest has at least 10 persone's participating. If the contest attracts less then 10 participants, then the game will not be passed out (in other words, get your friends to participate if you at least want to make a chance!)
Ok, thats about it. When you have your story done, send it to me by E-mail. Do not post it on the forum, this to prevent others from stealing your idea's. I will post all the story's after the contest anyway so you can all read them. But don't make them public before the contest is over.
The time span for this contest is 1 month, maybe shorter if all perticipants finish their story's early.
Good luck with the contest! And may the best man win. Remember, its not about how you write it, but how the story goes. So its wirth giving a shot even if your a terrible writer.
