I heard 'I, Robot' was good. I want to go see it, is Will Smith any good in it?

I'm sure the movie is good with the exception of Will.

I've never felt about anything the same way I feel about I, Robot. I absolutely hate it with all my heart, and I have not even seen it. I don't care how good it is. I imagine this is somewhat similar to how some people support Bush and hate Democrats. It's like, something about Democrats must just irk them so much that they decide to hate them with a hate so irrational it verges on ludicrous, and no amount of information in favor of Democrats and against Bush and all his riffraff will change their minds. That's how much I hate this movie, I, Robot. But what the hell, I'll see it anyway. Maybe I'll be swayed by the sheer coolness and special effects.

BTW, anyone hear about how Dick Cheney actually told Congress to "go f*ck yourselves"? And how much people are defending him? "Oh, he was just under a lot of stress." Yeah, f*ck that. You cannot take back or rectify telling Congress to go f*ck themselves, but I know they'll never stop defending him.
Now on the other hand, when Whoopi Goldberg (sp?) makes some jokes about the president's name or some esoteric sh*t like that (the papers haven't seemed to mention exactly what she said), all the companies for whom she was going to be the spokesperson suddenly drop her like a hot potato.

When the nuclear holocaust comes and the U.S. is decimated, Satan is going to have a field day.

Will was his usual Will Smith self. Nothing groundbreaking. But I like Will, so I had no problem.

Don't watse your money if you're going to see the movie with that attitude. If you tell yourself you're going to hate it before you even see it, then you'll end up hating it. Go to the movie with an open mind...
Oh, and those upset that the film was actually given the same title of Asimov's masterpiece, thus not doing justice to his work with a summer movie......let me just say this. At the end credits, it doesn't say "based on"...instead it says, "Suggested by Asimov's 'I, Robot'."

Yeah, I live at Fox News Channel, so I've heard a lot about it. It's hillarious how some people will justify whatever their party does. No minds of their own.

Oh, and I heard Whoopi said something about "Bush" and pointed to her crotch. That's all I've heard...and I really don't want to hear more.

I saw Spider-man 2 earlier today. Needless to say I was impressed, and it weas topped of (or it was the topping) by a really long I, Robot trailer which appears to be coming soon. Looks very good.

I just saw I, Robot yesterday. It was better than perviously anticipated, even Will Smith did a good job. The robots were well-designed.
I reccomend it to any fan of sci-fi.

I, Robot suprised me. The trailers seem to be rather misleading about the plot, in my opinion. And Will Smith just played... himself, as usual. Kind of made parts regarding his feelings and such a bit worthless, but he played the role well enough. Good special effects, good storyline. As stated earlier, some cheesy never-run-out-of-bullet scenes, but the action was scripted well enough. Good ol' far beyond reality, yet oddly engrossing enviroment. My only gripe were the few under-developed side characters, like the Grandma, annoying kid, police chief, etc...

seeing as we know what I, Robot is not about (ie a good book by Isaac Asimov), can someone say what it actually is about?

I know that 'I, Robot' is based on some kind of book. Very deep, apparently. Very philosophical.

It's part of the 'Foundation' series by Mr. Asimov. The first book, I think.

My dad says it's very good... probably his favorite Sci-fi genre book. I, however, have never found the time to read them.

I enjoyed I Robot a lot. I'll have to read the book because I assume its definately not close to what the movie was actually about in plot. Still the movie was very good in my opinion.

Uterus!! Oh...and Spoilers!!

So, after watching 'Spiderman 2' and finishing off my sandwiches, i decided to rush to the forums and read up on what Luke had stated...i forgot...and so here is my opinion on the film two days late. Damn.

All in all i think it was fairly good, the end part with Doc Ock was poo, with him being all "No!! No!!" with one of his tentacles [que 12 year old laughter] and then suddenly the tentacles are all "Oh...yeh...we could make you think things for a good part of the film, but now you raise your voice with us we're going to obey...even though we can crush your skull like a Cockroaches ballsack.". That, for me, was the only poo part.

Oh, and the fact that MJ actually runs back to Spidderman. Oh...and that half of NY now knows who Spidderman is.

The Train Scene was hella thooper though, especially when Doc Ock knocks all the pedestrians out of the way - although i think he should have killed some of the black people *mumbles something about the "damned" equal rights people and how the entire country is going to Hell*.

I thought the ending was a good touch, with thingies son finding the secret thingy and being told to...thingy. Although once you saw the mask, you didn't really need to be shown everything else, since you got that that was thingies thingy.

Next Film -
In the next film many rumours are a-bound. From MJ's would-be-hubby becoming Venom [Grrr-Arrrgg], to Elec...tro...person popping up, to The Lizard being all GRARRR!! Oh, and Osbourne becoming the Hob Goblin [i think that's the right character]. All in all i want to see at least two villains in the next film and i lust over seeing The Lizard and Venom!! So i hope those two are in it...and the Hob Goblin if he must be. But he has to die. Or be severely injured. Maybe by The Lizard. Doing something. Like...attacking. Or something. Yeh.

I saw Napoleon Dynamite last night. Brilliance. Not only because the script/casting was so perfect, but on principle. Too many comedy movies these days are fronting flashy actors and trying too hard. But this is just good, wholesome, stupid humor. Brilliance.

I also saw Alien Vs Predator today. Blatant cash in, of course. Cliche ridden plot. No character developement, for the most part. If you don't ask many questions, it's good sci-fi action fun. Well designed action scenes. But the aliens, god. They were made freaking invincible. AFTER the fact they only took around 10 minutes to grow in a host, and another 10 to grow to full size. *****spoilers***** For Christ's sake, one freaking Alien that went through a massive beating killed two of the three predators there. WTF? *****/spoilers***** Watch it for the action. Much like Freddy Vs Jason.

Oh, and they didn't try to create a new breed of aliens to fight, thankfully.

'Saved!' is great.

As is Anchorman.

AVP, I, Robot, and Spiderman 2 all suck.

The only reason I had for seeing Spiderman 2 was the fact that Bruce campbell had an amazing cameo.

The Village was pretty good, but Shyamalan exaggerated the plot twist a bit too much.

Napoleon Dynamite? Saved!? I have never heard of these. What are they?

I saw The Bourne Supremacy last night. I had to piece together (no, not the story, I think that was half the idea) the characters somewhat, as I haven't seen Identity, but overall a decent enough film, even if it did get a bit dull. The car chase had me fidgiting with minor tedium, and the purpose behind a couple of things still alludes me. But largely things followed through enough without the usual Hollywood explanations. (Gee, Ted, I don't know what that is. I guess you'll have to explain it out loud to me right now.)

EDIT: I, Robot isn't in the Foundation series, is it? I was under the impression that 'Foundation' was the first of those novels.

No actually, its not based on the book at all.

They got the rights to the book AFTER they had already written the script so they just took the title and applied it to a movie with vaguely similar themes.

This is why I haven't seen I, Robot on principle.

The three rules of robotics are taken from the book, though, are they not? And a good hearty lol at these 'similar themes'. It has robots that suddenly have capabilities their creators didn't expect them to have, and they go on a little adventure to do something about it. Gee, haven't seen that story line since the Butlerian Jihad, or the Matrix, or Bicentennial Man, or Star Trek, or...
