Abe-gun, the brew master and Cyber-Slig: believe it or not, all those three posts are considered spam. Abe-gun, if you want to compliment an individual member on his signature, keep it to PM. the brew master, while helping a fellow member to recognise their own spam is admirable, the tone present in "shut yo spam up" is undesireable. Cyber-Slig, you need no explanation. I think it's worth pointing out that any Moderator, myself included can issue you with a formal warning, independant of the forum. This is the first thread I'm reading in Off-Topic, so let us hope you've been a little more conservative in your posting, hmm?
As for the actual on-topic debate... I deliver newspapers, and it agrivates me to see how people can proclaim that this individual doesn't deserve the money. Okay, he raped someone. Not nice, to say the least. But he played the Lotto and won, just as anyone can do. To me, this brings up serious questions about the ethics of gambling. I like to gamble with a selection of close friends - there's nothing wrong with that. However, such large payoffs are just uncalled for. Okay, it entices people to "donate" money to charity, but I do not personally believe that the end justifies the means.
The very first person to win the jackpot in The National Lottery was of a faith that prohibits gambling of any kind (I actually forget, though I think Islam). Needless to say there was a family row, even when he donated the whole sum to charity. But come now - he still didn't really deserve a single penny of that win.
