Fighting

I've watched a few trailers for Munch's Oddysee now (although I must say they don't run very well on my computer), and from what I've seen, it looks like MO has a lot more fighting in it than the original two games - can someone who's got it tell me if this is so? The game being 3D and the look of so much fighting is starting to put me off a bit...

I think:

It's a more tactical game, more wars: IT'S REVOLUTION !!!

they are still puzzels, but more action... I prefer puzzles

well, i read this diary-type thing on some gaming site about the Flubco Fuels level and from what i read it seemed to be an interesting puzzle...
really, the person to ask would be Steel 'has an Xbox and MO' Shark...

oh, and before you ask, i think it was on Gamespot...

I found it Gluk!
:
What if Munch could use the crane to pick up the mudflubs, and instead of putting them in the recycler, he drops them safely in a river just outside the pen? So far, so good, but that seems too easy. What if the river is polluted, and the player has to clean it up before releasing the mudflubs? Of course! The river is polluted because the facility is flushing all its fuel straight into the river. That explains why the facility isn't making any moolah, which is why Lulu's been assigned to turn the place around. Now a mission sequence emerges. Sneak through the mudflub pens, break into the facility, and find Lulu. Take control of Lulu and use him to reorganize the facility's workforce, diverting the fuel flow from the river to... where, exactly? The storage tanks! Great... and when the tanks are full, Lulu gets promoted, which is the player's goal in this region, after all. And with the flow of fuel to the river turned off, Munch can go back to the crane and release the mudflubs.
That was in January though, so I'd expect that Flubco Fuels to be a lot different when we get there.I think one reason we haven't 'seen' many puzzles, is that, when making videos, game makers don't want them to be boring, and action-oriented scenes look more dazzling than seeing Abe and Munch run around flipping switches and whatnot. Not that any puzzles will be that simple, but still, the action scenes are a little more eye-catching.

IGN actually described it as a puzzle game, with less action and adventure than the first 2 titles. But what do they know? Anyway someone posted a review under the topic "Why is IGN gay?"

Trust me their will be a whole ton of brain numming puzzles to solve as well as alot of new fighting. Another thing to remember is that some of the fighting is used to solve some of the puzzles.

Oddsville, have you played the game yet? If so, do you know if the level of puzzles vs. fighting is going to be the same as the other two?

Thanks for the responses

Yes. The game is sticking to it's roots. Puzzles are the mainstay. It's still mystical and a very in-depth game.If you liked the first two, you will love this one.

It has a required taste, as the first two. It's just in 3D with much more of everything. From eye candy to Gamespeak to higher levels of A.I., to larger environments, more possesion, more of everything. It is the next gen Oddworld.

Okay SS, I'll take your word for it. It's just I didn't like the idea of too much emphasis on blowing things up, collecting little shrubs, and all those "Power ups to the people!!" were putting me off.

Keep the info coming

Don't tell me munch has no puzzles. That would make the game too easy.
