Meeps?

I've seen that there's going to be a creature called a meep in Munch's Oddysee... wasn't there a small fluffy creature of the same name in Quest for Glory? Is it just a coincidence or do the two creatures have anything to do with each other?

But those Meeps are soooooooooooooo cute that i want to possess a Big Bro Slig and shoot the !@#$ out of them.
